I'm taking some notes: 1. Select key + scale (scale highlighting to that scale). Only use notes from that 2. Pads: Chord progression with chords from that scale, some inversions + in-between notes to spice it up 3. Melody on top (different synth) 4. Hihat: Some drills, some additional lower notes 5. Claps (could also do snare/rim): each 3rd count 6. Kick 7. Add some percussion and additional drums for more variation 8. Add 808 (on kick, base notes from pad pattern, make sure it's in tune) 9. Mixing (add one mixer channel after the other + adjust volume) 10. Mastering (Limiter on Master, adjust gain) 11. Split by channel, arrange 12. Intro: Down one octave (for instance)

In the piano roll if you click options and then Helpers > Scale Highlighting you can pick the scale and root note and it will change the piano rolls highlighted notes so you don't have to do that extra step in copying the scales all the way up!

with newtone or edison you can find the pitch/note of the 808 and then by rightclicking the note in the sampler window, every note you play in the piano roll

To tune an 808 it's as simple as left click on 808 in pattern mode then right click the 808 waveform an select open in audio editor then click the flag icon and select detect pitch regions. itll show up the pitch region in yellow/orange on waveform then go back to waveform that you right clicked an select the Key of 808 in piano at bottom of screen. works for ALL 808's ever made. All sounds at that lol.
