On your flattening jig, I would suggest a sacrificial board between the bolts & the workpiece.

Loved the video love the board. I appreciate you providing dimensions for your cuts, most people don’t and it’s annoying. I just milled a bunch of black walnut so I’m going to give this a shot. Thanks again

Very tidy! Question: do you ever put a juice groove in both sides?
@StephenJoiner3 жыл бұрын
I don't, not sure if it would be worth doing. This way you get one side that's about 2" larger in every direction for larger stuff

Oh that looks darn nice Stephen. The contrast between the Walnut and Maple makes it almost look like it glows, and how you would manage this project without the Pizza Delivery Woman, I don't know...

Some of your walnut had interior voids. I find that I get the same thing happening. Do you fill those with black epoxy or CA glue or wood glue and sawdust or ?? I've been using epoxy but haven't found anything I really like. Great board, btw!
@StephenJoiner Жыл бұрын
I have tried a few things. For walnut I like to use black CA but that idk how safe that is. If you just rub wood glue into it, eventually it will fill and harden. You can mix sawdust with it, too.

Great video! did you have snipe problems with that wen planer? if so, how did you fix it?
@StephenJoiner2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's pretty bad. Just gotta leave yourself some extra material.

Do you have a material/cut list for these?
@StephenJoiner2 жыл бұрын
I don't - I 3D model everything and just use as much as the model specifies.

You use Mineral oil for a cutting board where food will be cut ? lol
@StephenJoiner Жыл бұрын
Almost every single cutting board maker does, yes. I'm not sure why you think that is a bad idea. There are a few hundred thousand people you might want to tell!
