Making a wooden swage block or dishing stump for dishing steel + dishing a test piece to see how it works and updates and tweaks that I made after a few weeks of use. This is the first step in my journey of learning how to make spoons, ladles, and bowls out of steel plate. This is all super new to me, but I am learning quickly! Hope you enjoyed! If you did, please leave me a like or a comment down below, if you didn't leave me a dislike, and tell me why you didn't like it, and what I can do better. I'm trying to post a new video every other week now, so subscribe and click that bell icon if you want to see more! Until next time, take care and God bless!

˅˅˅ BIBLE VERSES OF THE MONTH ˅˅˅
2nd Chronicles 31: 20-21
"And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered."
2nd Chronicles 32:5-8
"Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance. And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying, Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:
With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah."
Psalms 5:11
"But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee."

Thanks for showing that this can be done easily. I've seen other videos where way too much work goes into it. I only need it for light hobby stuff.

ArcanePath360 You are very welcome. I felt the same way. Check out the video links in the description for some other peoples takes on the same thing.

You should do end grain, that's why logs work best plus they're heavier

That was really quite fascinating. I've never heard of steel dishing, but I would love to see more! Very nicely done there.

Great video, and thanks for showing the tool that you made the dish out of. I'm a copper artist and want to get my copper bowls bigger. You've given me the information I need to make my own swage block. Thank you!

I am super excited about this project! It's opening up a lot of cool opportunities for me, and broadening my horizons on the things I can make out of metal. Really hope you enjoyed the video! I'm posting a new video every two weeks or more now and there is a lot more metal working coming soon! So stay tuned and hit that bell icon if you haven't already to get notified when I post new content! Have a great week :).

Nice job Josh. Good to see a new video. That was interesting. Do you still make any of the aluminum rod slotted slingshots?

Sure how much are they? I like the slot method I've made several out of natural forks and cabinet grade plywood but I need an aluminum one made by an expert!

Taha Sarfraz Thanks man! This block allows me to make steel bowls. It's just a concave piece of material that lets me hammer the flat piece of metal to match the curved portion of the block. I won't be doing a 15,000 subscriber special, but I do have some metal working builds, a slingshot video, a shop equipment review and a weapon build coming shortly!
