@AtelierSANGBLEU2 жыл бұрын

@AtelierSANGBLEU2 жыл бұрын

Thank you, I love watching your design process and how you refine the details down to their final form. Beautifully filmed and edited - you tell a good story. Well done. _Quick Question_ - do you know the name of the lining material that you use? - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
@AtelierSANGBLEU2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for enjoying my works and videos!🙏🏻 Unfortunately, we cannot get the specific name from the agency of the tannery + they don't want us to publicly tell the name to the others as well because they are suppliers for Hermes and don't want to reveal the name out loud. 😅 Just the same leather article Hermes uses for the linings of exotic leather goods, that's all we can tell 🥹
@stevezytveld65852 жыл бұрын
@@AtelierSANGBLEU Sir, I bow. You are one _heck_ of a researcher. And the tannery agrees to sell to you who just happens to be manufactures for Hermes. Utterly remarkable I knew you were good... yeah, trade secrets, totally... wow.
@stevezytveld65852 жыл бұрын
@@AtelierSANGBLEU OK. Workaround question... if someone was looking for a lining material (for what amounts to learn-as-you-work projects), what would you recommend for a lining/stiffening material (something that's a little more, uh, budget conscious). What would the generic name of that material be? Alternatively, would a layer or two of canvas be a good substitute? Because, honestly, before I saw that material I had assumed it was some sort of specialized card-stock/cardboard.
@AtelierSANGBLEU2 жыл бұрын
@@stevezytveld6585 Oh, did you ask me about the reinforcement material?? I thought you are asking about the linings on the interior😅 The one I used on this was microfiber material from Italy. (Microfibra) The best reinforcement material is always Leather, not artificial materials. Canvas is not a good idea I think. The fibers in leathers are the best but, for some projects that need more suppleness like this, microfiber has the most similar feeling to the leather + suppleness.
@stevezytveld65852 жыл бұрын
@@AtelierSANGBLEU Oooh. See, I learn so much from you... Thank you. I've seem some other leatherworkers using a fabric/foam-like material that looks like its been coated with at least one layer of fusible interfacing (if this were fabric sewing that's what the white fiber layer coating one side of the material would be called). Microfibra. OK. The applications I've seen so far with it seems to be reserved for a more box-y style of purse or briefcase. Which makes total sense. Thank you for opening up a new 'research rabbit hole' to explore. You're using the same lining material as Hermes. I'm just going to geek out on that little fact for a while... well done, you!

Good job! One thing though: in your Customer Thank You Letter you shouldn't use other brands names to associate your products with, not only because it is unethical, but also because this makes you a simp of the big brands, recognizing them as ethalons of quality which, nowadays, is not the case anymore. So, inspire, conceive, but never simp for.
@AtelierSANGBLEU Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for your opinion, I would totally agree with that if the purpose was the same as you are getting it. The true purpose of that message in the letter was not what you thought it was.(this is not about simping them at all) But, As this occurs the misunderstanding like this, we don't state that message anymore these days.
