Making an air compressor gas powered

I would recommend to have an unloader / pressure cutoff switch, essentially doing the same thing as the electric switch, just with air. It will unload the back pressure on the pump. Also, it would sync the cut-off pressure with the unloading of the supply tubes. I do like the clutch, but starting at full pressure is probably going to wear pads out prematurely ... another reason for the unloader.

just change to the pilot check unloader valve, skip that clutch pully to a solid one, add a safety pressure valve and your almost done

Try using a after maker engine plate it allows you to move the engine to the left so u can keep that clutch on the shaft and pute a bolt at the end and will also take up some or the vibrations

Ur throttle control hooks to ur piolet valve ,piolet valve is the same as a pressure switch to an electric aircompressor

Gas operated compressors have a higher psi rated air receiver tank by the way. That thing is a bomb waiting to go off. It was a good thing you had your valve shutting it down at 50 psi…

Apples to oranges, man. He's not operating at pressures comparable to the commercial gas compressors, thus he doesn't need a mega tank. Relax.....

It just needs an unloader valve as used, on gas powered compressors, the tank is no different between gas or electric. You would set the cut in and out pressures, to suit the tank max pressures anyway, also it has a pressure relief valve on there, a bomb it is not, lol.

Can you manually throttle down once you hit your target psi to disengage the clutch rather than shutting the engine off?

I should do a recap episode on this. Currently I have the pressure switch disconnected. I found the gas motor and clutch setup will only get up to 80psi. Under that load the motor does not have enough rpm to keep the clutch ingauged. Bigger motor is needed.

Only just seen your video when you was having trouble with clutch not lining up why didn't you enlarge the holes make slots on the bracket frame 😮good idea though i should done that with mower just got rid of it was good engine body knackered

I wouldnt call that a sucess it dont work like its suppose to. Also you can buy a unloader valve alot cheaper than that clutch and than itll work like a store bought compressor

Without the unloader valve the compressor will shut off you don't need a bigger engine
