We don't live in the age of Greatness, Originality, Determination nor preservance. We live in the age of Consumerism and it is flourishing. This is one of the reasons why quality work such as yours don't get a lot of views. This is why Hollywood plays it safe with ALL the remakes, reboots, re-visions and it's because they are playing it safe and playing it safe does not yeild Artistic Immortality (A.I.). Great job!! - James D Watkins artistic director of Phoenix Productions.

It always pains me to see short films gets zero views. Any video of feeding pigeons in the park on KZbin will be ten times more popular. Love the tricks of using ai for assets.
@ScottJeschke4 ай бұрын
Appreciate it, friend. Yeah, it's tough. People inherently watch content for how it serves them, unless they are a fan of the artist. The ratio of views between a film, and a films behind the scenes is pretty staggering. I'm guessing with this one though, part of it is because I initially embedded the short in one of my videos. So I posted it again here as a stand-alone piece, since I also got into an online fest

@ScottJeschke4 ай бұрын
Haha, thanks, Chris! Always appreciate that you watch to the end :) re your scifi short, awesome. do it/ let me know how it goes! I've been finding narrative stuff doesn't usually get the dopamine hit of getting lots of quick "content" views, but there's something much more deeply fulfilling about it even if it doesn't get the same appreciation. I had a blast w this, and will probably do a lot more
@artemus80j.44 ай бұрын
0:15 why not ? Glorify it! There's nothing wrong with that. It isn't about saying that something is better than other it's about being inspired, motivated and doing it without saying oh I can't at the moment because I don't have this or that.
@ScottJeschke4 ай бұрын
Yeah, fair point. I'm more trying to convey that I'm not one to be like "I don't need help. I can do it all myself". I think solo work for practice, inspiration or even expression is great, but I'm not crazy about it when it's a "screw you" to collaboration -- if that makes sense.

Awesome breakdown. Sci-fi is my thing (with my other account) so I’m always interested in how others are making theirs. You gave me a lot of food for thought . You should do more short films and breakdowns. The gear reviews are so over saturated
@ScottJeschke4 ай бұрын
@@ReelMovieNetwork Thanks so much! Glad to hear. Yeah, my cinematic reviews have been good for engagement, but there's been a good number of copycats popping up, which makes it a little less novel. And I don't really love the idea of basically making long-form commercials for brands who aren't paying me. This format was really fun. Integrating gear into a narrative piece, then breaking down the narrative piece. I'm definitely hoping to do more
