What a stunning reproduction! It's so cool to see how they worked with such primitive materials back then!

They were indeed primitive! I find myself frequently wondering why I choose to work in these historical methods when I have automated tools, but there’s something about the relaxation, I suppose!

The research quality in this is stunning! You're so fortunate to have these original materials to work with!

Thank you so much! It isn’t always easy finding these antiques but it’s fascinating to use period methods to get in the mindset 😉

What primitive materials! How did they survive?!

Well the lifespan was much shorter then. I guess I see why!

I've had so many f-it moments! At some point during my rebellious younger years, I tried leaving things secretly unfinished, just to see what I could get away with and what people would notice. I immediately think of a pair of stays I used in my hiking in corsets experiment because I pulled out that pair of stays to use, and...ohhhh wow....that stitching is NOT up to par with where I was at the time I made it! Definitely one of those projects where I was like...eh this is underwear, no one is going to see it anyway! It still functions and is comfy to wear!

Underwear works!!! And hahaha I love the cheeky “just to see if people notice” moments 😂

Mostly just the classics like doing a fast and dirty straight stitch on a hem instead of trying to make it pretty, not bothering to press seams...I guess there was the one time I was making a bodice for my dryad character but something went wrong with the tension and instead of redoing it, I covered the problems with fake flowers and called it good.

Buahahaha! I think that’s why most of my projects are as decorated as they are. Covering up my sins 😂

Haha, I love the sillier Kayla! Great project; good scope and leaves time to edit the video. Keep it up. =]

Thanks!!! I’m putting a ton of work into the next video for editing so it was a nice, little break.

Hmmm... either the time I used totally modern-day dog-printed cotton/poly as my fashion fabric for a pair of stays and bum roll because no one would see them and I thought the fabric was cute, or the fact that my McCree costume was quite literally held together with buckles, tape, and prayers. Con crunch is a thing.
