16:45 Andrew, Your soothing voice, drew me into your doll making process. As a writer, I appreciate your story telling process. I agree making a doll is very cathartic, and watching the doll being pieced together being brought to life metaphorically. I listened to your reel several times, your voice reassuring me , I can make a doll using your pattern. Look forward to your next tutorial. ❤

Isn’t it always the final stitches!!! As soon as you said, “…almost there…” I felt that familiar anticipation that often seems to trigger a thread fiasco. I’m so glad you shared your process and that I had the chance to watch it. I’ve fantasized for decades about creating an articulated fabric doll. I now have a much clearer vision of how it might be managed. Your serene encouragement and the terrific outcome of your example has given me a new spark of confidence.

I used to make cloth dolls. I even tried my hand at a bjd! I wish I would have kept it up. I even sold a few. I don't know what happened... I just lost interest. I am looking for inspiration. Your technique is so basic and straight to the point. I love it. Thank you for this beautiful video. I like how you sew around the pattern pieces, then cut them out. Great idea!

I just stumbled across your videos and I'm so trilled!. I learned so much from just this one but another one as well. I really learned a lot when you said, have fun, they don't need to be perfect because human faces are not perfect just have fun and let your creativity flow. Thank you!.. Also, would love for you two make a pattern for a small doll, maybe 6-7"., pretty please ❤️

I never thought about sewing everything before cutting the pattern pieces out. It looks so much easyer. Im going to try it. I dont like to use muslin for my dolls. I use pimatex. It has a tighter weave. I make my dolls with separate fingers so the tighter weave keeps the fabric from shedding. I like to make the separate fingers so i can put pipe cleaner into them so i can pose them.

Watching this tutorial was very soothing, your voice is very soft. I learned how to sew in a not so calming environment, it's more about how much and how quickly you can finish a project rather than enjoying to make it and making sure the project actually looks good. I love sewing, but those environments drain the joy of it. Thank you for the tutorial, you're a wonderful teacher. 🩵

I've made several tilda dolls and they're made much as yours is. I sew seems at the knees and elbows for bendable joints. Gotta watch those seems carefully when stuffing... I've blown out a few and then the doll gets a tattoo .. You might try using turning tubes. The tube is the length of the chopstick and bigger so that the stick and fabric can fit over it, and in it. Makes turning so easy and quick. You can find them where sewing or doll making supplies are sold. I've added breasts to my dolls and I prefer the clothes to be removable because half of doll play is changing outfits. I like your pattern. I wonder how it will transfer into clay? Sigh... Why are we doll (and toy) enthusiasts sprinkled far and wide about the world?

What is the name of the fabric used for the dolls skin please
@breeinatree481111 ай бұрын
He uses muslin but any firm weave will do. I use pimatex because it's a very tight weave. I make separate fingers and the tighter weave of the pimatex keeps the fabric from fraying.
