Don’t be disappointed if it makes less boost. Because boost is a measure of resistance in the motor. By opening up the exhaust air can more efficiently enter into the motor and lower the boost pressure. It’s a direct correlation to back pressure. When you lower back pressure egts decrease and it makes your motor more efficient.
@centraltexasfoxbodies4 жыл бұрын
It should make the same boost, that's why it has a waste gate, he is also going bigger injectors so it'll definitely build more boost.

@kylefolsom86813 жыл бұрын
@@chazgeisler6213 your statement is not wrong, but for the application being applied he will gain boost, he's installing a bigger turbo and injectors, and tunes to go with it. Now if he opened up the exhaust and intake ( im talking about a higher flowing intake manifold, head work to help it flow better and worked the exhaust manifolds to flow better and kept the truck Stock, yes he would indeed see a drop in boost pressure but actually be flowing more air in the process. Gale banks does a really good job of explain it. More than I'm willing to type lol scroll through his videos, the "killing a duramax" series. Its good stuff.

Good stuff man! I think they went from single shot to split shot for 2 reasons. Like you said, to get a cleaner burn for emissions and I believe the second was to actually help reduce noise. Definitely, a noticeable difference going from split to single but you get used to is.

I believe the split shots were designed to improve fuel efficiency (which they don’t compared to tuned single shots). But they do run quieter than single shots

All split shot injectors do is to help it run better buy having it burn cleaner. Just a small shot of fuel first then a larger one just after it

Couldn't justify the price of those turbos. It makes more economical sense to T4 after buying a drop in, pedestal and upipes your almost at what an irate or CSD kit would set you back with stainless bellowed uppipes and unlimited turbo options.
