So we're at the point where I'm having to think outside the box in Poly Bridge 2. The levels are becoming more difficult, and I'm having to adapt to concepts outside of engineering reality to find solutions that work. This week we take on the triple decker drawbridge, the safety gap and the big spender.
This video contains solutions to levels 4-5, 4-6 and 4-7.

My favourite one was the first one Also in the second bridge there was a lot of dangling bridge potential. you could use smol springs instead of wood between the roads and have it just dangle with his springs holding it

On the triple decker level, I made the top road arch above the ship. So the two ends of the bridge always stayed connected, making it easier to hold everything up. And I built a little hurdle for the middle car, so it will be delayed and only two cars are on the bridge at the same time.

@@RealCivilEngineerGaming Also when youre using multi-deck parallel bridges, at least in the simulation you want to anchor the bridge anchors directly to eachother, top to bottom, not Truss Intersect to Truss intersect. Doing so increases the structure's rigidity, which is not the case when doing a horizontal support.

@royalRoy5
@royalRoy5 4 жыл бұрын
8:00 I'd say it's build symetrically like that, so it has the instantaneous center of rotation and the center of mass aligned in the same point and therefore negating the aditional stress on the bearing it would have gotten due to the inbalanced rotation. Though of course, this leads to doubeling the stress caused by gravity on the bearing. Sooo I'm not sure wheter this trade off is worth it or not ^^

Have you ever heard of a game called Armadillo Run? I think it would be perfect for your channel - its a physics based game where you need to get an armadillo into a portal using various materials with different costs and tensile strengths. So you can do things like create slingshots, rubber catapults, anything you can think of as long as you stick to the budget and the armadillo stays in the right place for 5 sec or so. Old game, but brilliant. Highly recommended

I think that arched roads help a lot more with cost than you think. While both of us know that the arched roads are generally a no-no, they allow a more even split of the load between the trusses and the road, which allows MUCH tighter tolerances. Instead of fighting forces with a moment arm, you run the forces along a straight line.
