I was thinking a way to clear coat it. I was wondering: can it be a good idea to just submerge it for a second in some melted plastisol or will it come out just as a mess? Otherwise, what kind of clear coat could I use? I'm going crazy because of this!

Just a simple dual action gravity feed airbrush and compressor is all you need. I always recommend Badger airbrushes personally as they are great airbrushes and less expensive than some other brands.

I think those are Whitmore Farm stencils. I just discovered them. With great molds, a talented artist like Nate and some nice stencils you can't help but having awesome looking baits.

haven't watched the video yet but if i had to guess you could find it on marling's channel or if not maybe a quick google of the brand if you can't find anything i know spike-it/lureworks makes some soft plastic lure paints for airbrush

The Best Collaboration on the market. Tons of Saltwater kayak, jetti, surf, and boat fishers are chomping at the bit to shoot their own epic shrimp mold. most options lack luster and poorly replicate action.

A hair dryer would be better to dry the paint and you won't risk melting the plastic like with a heat gun.
