Nice one dude, what a great wood build to start, have fun with that board, epoxy will protect from minor stuff if you surf again. If you don't wanna wax (which is smart since it's art) , try getting some plastic webbing under the feet/suit, you know like how they make socks with grip underneath....won't hurt the board and you could actually surf proper...

You can use a heat gun or torch to help the epoxy level out better. Just make sure not to hold it too close to cause additional waving.
