(For the head) Since the head is made out of rubber, the paint will chip off and (for the body) maybe you kept touch her back to the point it’s started to chip off or the surface was too smooth for the paint.

I don’t know if you’ll even see this CC, but if on the off chance you do I have some tips that may help you. Also, I really loved the custom and the realism is amazing!! ❤️❤️ I feel like one of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to customizing is you need good quality paints and brushes, which isn’t the case. I’ve been customizing for years and still use Apple Barrel Paints and Walmart brushes. Your paint may be chipping because of the plastic. Certain types of plastic chip more easily than others because it’s to smooth for the paint to grab onto and so next time taking a nail file to the surface will help give the paint something to hold onto (though it obviously makes the outcome less smooth). I also want to say if the pet is authentic or has texture to it’s surface you don’t need to do this. Using a topcoat helps keep things better preserved as well, though if it’s just for display that’s not always needed as it would be taking as much wear and tear. I also like to add glossy nail polish to the pets eyes to make them look a little more realistic. If anybody has any other tips/suggestions they are very appreciated.

What you could do to help with the chipping of the paint: -Sand the custom before so the paint sticks to it better -Use a top coat/finish to help seal the paint and protect it -It might be the paint some times, but you seem to have pretty good paint so that probably isn’t it 💕💕

When you’re customizing LPS you should use mods podge it helps the paint not fall off.

The biggest peeling solution is to use a more reliable base. The fakes are made out of a different plastic that are harder to work with which is also why you couldn't remove any of the color with the remover. They use different pigment methods, so generally you should try and customize the real LPS (I know, it's hard sacrificing such precious children, but sometimes you have to give the old for the new). Also, note of advice, use some sort of sealant at the end. That helps hold things together and, if you want, make certain bits shiny or matte. But, for that being the first time in awhile, that was a really good custom! It was just good in general, first time or not. Good luck with any future projects you have in mind!

A few year back I customized a real version of this cat and I'm sure the paint peeling is due to the plastic being too smooth and cheap. If you are planning to customize another fake lps from the lot I recommend sanding and see if it does the trick

The paint peeling is probably caused by how smooth the surface is. Do small strokes to rough up the surface with a nail filer and that should help. C: love your videos btw!

If I remember right the paint is peeling off because of the material the figurine is made out of. You could try to sand it but - from my own experience - the paint wouldn't be as smooth and may chip off depending on the plastic. You should try to use a matt sealant - watered down and 2-3 coats. But wait for the paint to fully dry first, maybe a few days. Watering down the sealant and waiting for the paint to dry is important because it could become sticky and it's really hard to undo that. I have not done custom lps, but I have painted mlp customs. The lps is too smooth for the paint to stick so it flakes off. I recommend rubbing it with sandpaper before painting.
