Making and Hauling Round Bales

Welcome back to Two Farm Boys! In today's video, we mow, rake, round bale, and pick up our final hay fields of 2022! Our tractors and equipment in this video are a John Deere 4105 compact / utility tractor, the neighbor's Kubota M5700 tractor, a CCM 165 drum mower, a Ford 513 bar rake, a Hesston 530 round baler, a Chevy K2500 7.4L 5-speed, and a Hudson 20ft flatbed trailer. Nice video Everett! I was thinking about the pigs when you mentioned the hay and stocker cattle in the intro! Definitely remember the bowling ball (and your wonder if the pigs would play with it). can you actually resharpen the blades from the mower or is it just dull and throw it away? nice video by the way! watching from belgium and always happy to see when there is a video online :D

I suppose you could sharpen them. When I bought the mower a couple years ago I also bought a big box of blades. So I haven't really needed to sharpen the others yet. Thanks for watching! - Everett

wait do you bale it wet or do you wait a certain time to bale it?

We let it dry for several days. Usually ted it to fluff the hay and that helps it dry down faster.

No, even if it had the power (which it might just barely) it's very light. Handles our square baler pretty well though. Thanks for watching! - Everett

How the 4105 handle the new holland baler. you get any lunging on the tractor from the baler?

It does pretty well. I have to keep in 4WD on some of the steeper hills going up for traction and down for braking. I wouldn't want anything smaller, but yeah it does fine. God bless - Everett
