I used aluminum binder clasps from our local office supply. If they’re a bit too long, the ends can be cut off with an old pair of scissors. I cover the clasps with a casing of regular fairly heavy pellon interfacing (non bonding) to keep the metal from rubbing the nose. They’re 100 in a box for around $5.00.

I searched KZbin and found your post and your research on what didn't work I related to. I ordered the wire and looking forward to trying it. A round wire often hurts my nose bridge but other options like coffee bag ties have not be flexible to fit in a fitted mask I am going to try to flatten the wire as you did. Thanks for the clever idea!, God Bless your wife for making face masks and to you for finding the right supplies which is so important. Your post was written in April, hope everyone is well in your family.. Post any others ideas/tips you or your wife found that worked.

Thanks for this, unfortunately I found the aluminium snapped maybe I made it too thin...

I ordered the wire but have not tried this yet. Did you use the 15 guage? Apparently its used primarily for electric fences and I did not find it in stock at local hardware stores.

@@judystenhouse4832 Hi I used 17guage as suggested. Now I am leaving a flap of fabric inside at top of mask which seems to cut down on moist air getting to glasses...have fun with the face-coverings and stay safe :^)
