Recipe (and amounts used in this video)
1 Part Beeswax (1 oz)
2 Parts Oil (1 oz Coconut Oil, 1 oz Shea Butter)
1/4 tsp dissolved Propolis (dissolved in pure grain alchohol)
1/4 tsp Lanolin
1/4 tsp Vitamin E Oil
10 Drops Rosemary Oil
25 Drops Peppermint Oil

Making bow string wax. I have heard good things about boot oil made from bees wax too. Food grade ambs oil and bee wax. I leave propolis for bees to reuse. That's bee medicine. Lanolin is sheep oil.

I'm curious about collecting propolis. Are you just cleaning it up from the hive or frames when you inspect or using what you clean off of equipment before putting it back in to service? Thanks for the video. I'm going to do this at some point soon.

I have used both propolis traps, and cleaning heavy propolis building hives. I have a little jar I put clean propolis in, if it is all gunked up with bee legs and other debris I usually throw it away. The cleanest propolis possible is obtained using a propolis trap. It's basically a plastic queen excluder looking device but with even smaller gaps that the bees like to fill up.
