Lol took me 10 trays of beans to fill my box lol. I have a 2nd I made but cut a straw n placed it in the center of the box, then filled the box n it took half as many to fill it. Can't see the straw at all. But this one n the frogs r my top 2 but dang they r all amazing!! I also learned quick to mix my resin n mica in a small container then place it in the mold. I didn't like mixing em in the mold. Didn't mix well. I did add my resin first then the mica then a touch more resin on top then stirred, worked better but mixing in the container first was so much easier. Just my 2 cents lol

I think my favorites in this set were the skeleton and the sugar skulls but they are all so cute. I think I filmed for so long that by the time i got to the jelly beans i was over it..so over it lol

I agree that the colors didn't turn out as vibrant as I wanted. My purple came out lavender. I am still working on jelly beans 😂

I feel sorta bad saying this, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching you trying to fold those flaps 🤣 I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by some miniatures 😅

LOL I was trying to not go into a rage and throw the box

I was really hoping you'd show how you mixed the mica powders. Did you just use a different spoon for each color? how did you keep it from picking up the first color on the 2nd colors spoon back?
@KitchenBricks15 күн бұрын
I just wiped off the spoon with a paper towel.

Lol. My favorite colors r black n blue too!! 😅

I always say "black and blue like a bruise" lol

The blue so far really look like the Jelly Belly brand beans.

I thought that too

It's much easier to mix the mica into the resin, as well as combine colors, in a small silicone dish and then pour into the mold.
@ginnywalton507116 күн бұрын
how do you get the silicone in the mold then afterwards? does it actually pour?
@FriggasKloset16 күн бұрын
@@ginnywalton5071 with the small spoon which was provided, or with a silicone scraper, toothpick or any other tool you have on hand.

Question, is the mica and resin they use in LOTR Sting different than this resin and mica? I made some "sparkly blueberry" jelly beans, with the extra resin and blue mica from Sting, and it does not want to come off the mold. I made a bit of a mess and it ended up smeared across the top of the mold.. Some flaked off after curing, but a decent amount didn't. It also took longer to cure.... (i'm still very new to minis/resin/mica)
@KitchenBricks5 күн бұрын
I would have thought the mica was the same, but not the resin. I remember some instructions for LOTR had stickers over them instructing people to cure them for much longer which tells me some were different kinds of resin. I've never had any stick to the molds though, thats so odd!

@@KitchenBricksyeah they did take longer to set for sure! I just hate how the mold feels now :(

If I get these I'm going to mix the resin and mica powder first but I do like the variations. I bought butter beer from the Harry Potter site and it was gross 🤢. So I made my own using butterscotch flavor and syrup. Taste so much better. I hope one of the mystery items is the butter beer.
@phoenixdarkstar736419 күн бұрын
@5280girlUSA from what I understand, it's pumpkin juice, acid pops and some sort of candy floss

I looooved butter beer. I drank so many at universal. I think frozen is the best, but hot was good too.

@KitchenBricks lots have bubbles. Lots have big "plates" of extra resin. I didn't do well with those tiny molds. Loved the chocolate frog one though!
