On September 28, 2021, WTTW and The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center hosted a preview and discussion about Making Black America: Through the Grapevine, a new film by Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., director Stacey L. Holman and producer Shayla Harris.
Brandis Friedman, co-anchor of WTTW's Chicago Tonight, moderated a conversation with Kim L. Dulaney, Vice President of Education and Programs at The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center, and Shayla Harris, director/producer of Making Black America: Through the Grapevine. The conversation examined many themes within the Black American experience - specifically, specifically slavery, freedom, and the contours of the bind between North and South; Reconstruction and life under Jim Crow rule; and the status of the ongoing effort to organize and achieve goals that were first set during slavery.

I’m really looking forward to this documentary series and as a Prince Hall Mason I’m pleased to hear his name mentioned because his legacy is not mentioned in black history as much as I would like so hopefully there will be some nice information about him.

Do not forget waist line parties, dinner plates being sold, policy etc. pity pat. Born in Chicago 10-1942. I am 80 now, but I live in Queretaro, since Chicago is too deadly and expensive.
