Making Cambodia's most popular ax by blacksmiths and carpenter

In this video, I want to show you how they make an axe. This kind of axe is the most popular one in Cambodia. Most of the houses have it.
This axe is made by blacksmiths and carpenter. It someone wants an axe, they have to come to the blacksmiths for a blade and come the carpenter for the handle​​ because the blacksmiths don't have enough tools to make handle from wood. Please watch this video to see how they make it.

The entire axe head is made from very HEAVY duty high carbon leaf spring in the 5160 HC range . Not from soft low carbon steel . Respect sent .

I wouldn’t buy. Their method of hardening would only ever so slightly harden that steel. Not even sure if they tempered it. It would definitely dull very soon. Also not sure if that’s a very stale wood... then again I don’t know what wood it is but I’ve never seen it for any tools like this. Just my bit of input

Kyle Haidet If you try it you will like it. Many peope buy axes from the markets and bring them to his his place to get them hardened again. In 2012 I bought one axe from the states but it wasn't made in the states, it is not as comfortable and sharp as this one. I still have the one I bought from there but I don't it use often. I use only when I forget where I keep the my favourite ine
