Thank you for the great idea of using a tablecloth, so simple! Making curtains and seat covers for a converted transit van and am on my second tablecloth so far. I think it will be a lot cheaper than fabric. x

Great video and those curtains looks awesome! I've got a Doblo camper and it has black out film on the windows but I want curtains as well not just for additional privacy but also because without curtains it still feels a bit too much like sleeping in a car so curtains will hopefully give it a more camper van type feeling. Thanks for the tips, will come in handy. All the best, Dan

Hi Joel I used the same idea with the eyelets and wire works well. Here's a tip for condensation I found put cat litter in a sock and stitch or zip tie the top then put between the window and curtains, seemed to work for me

Best curtain idea, I've seen quite a few video's and this seem likes the best idea for windows that arent flat too as if the bottom goes outwards such as a wagon it will simply follow it - better than alot of Velcro solutions!

I hope that van wall is insulated then ply lined first? I wouldn't use table cloth. That wall carpet you have there is also available in black from Amazon and would make much thicker curtains for your windows making it warmer for you. I have blinds at the moment but intend to replace with curtains. As I don't have a sewing machine I will use hemming strip which one simply irons in.

Thinking strong magnets glued (material glue) onto a thick material would be the go, get a good seal to prevent condensation...Get thick material next to nothing at junk shops, glue magnet then glue a piece of material over the magnet to make it look ok ( or fold and glue an edge trim over the magnets).No holes better seal and curtain would fit snug in the recess, curtain would open easy or be removed fully..

@JoelsStuff6 жыл бұрын
Quey Namaste Good luck with it! Mine already had the insulation done when I bought it so I cheated I guess. My advice would be to think about what you really need, and be as minimalist as you can. I’ve gotten by just fine without a fridge or fancy sink/hob unit etc

Yeah I dont think I will bother with the fridge and its nice having the blank canvas. I am hoping to run my wiring behind the ply panels

What a fantastic build! I'm thinking of doing the same with a berlingo. Did you insulate the roof at all? I'm struggling to see how you'd take off the roof liner without ruining it.
@JoelsStuff3 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s insulated. It has polyester dacron behind wooden boards, and carpet stuck over it all. The previous owner removed the old roof liner so I couldn’t say 🤷♂️. Good luck!

@sam-ed8uh2 жыл бұрын
@@meyer2911 I ended up just removing the roof liner as it was like carpeted cardboard and just bent and creased when I tried to do it nicely. Lined the roof with foil bubble wrap and a 5mm layer of closed cell foam off eBay (using flooring glue spray) and then carpeted over it👍

I think using black out curtains would be more effective. You want the curtains to look professional neat, and not tacky. If you have a new campervan you don't want to drill ugly holes all over the place.
