Yes I did a test dab before adding the terps and it was quite tasty. I just did 10% to ensure it would work effectively in the vape as it did have quite a bit of chlorophyll and the like that may of clogged it. But it worked out great regardless.

Wait until Winter. Keep the bud in paint-strainer mesh bags outdoors overnight when the temps get below zero. Shake the bud bags inside a clean 5 gal deli-bucket. Move them around, turn them over, and keep shaking. Most of what comes through is trichomes. If you lightly crush the bud in the bag, in that cold, the pieces break into pieces that are too large to go through the mesh. bag. A little plant material dust comes through with more trichs. Use a flat brush to wipe the sides of the bucket so all the yield is on the bottom. The Everclear has been out overnight, is at or below zero, and the trichomes are dissolved in it. Then it can go in a machine, or a vacuum pump and micron filters.

A freezer only goes down to zero. The freezing point of alcohol is 170 degrees below zero. Leaving stuff out overnight in below freezing weather is easier to handle, and just as important, it Stays at that temp while you work. Just wear a hat & gloves.@croniccaterpillar8396

OVER all a great machine and great video, love the Hirb.. 4.6 grams with a bit of alcohol weight is a terrible return.. Seems like could use the plunger while filter is still in place and get another 2 grams out of it. YOU know you were thinking that when you saw all that oil in there..lol.. Can you also run machine with no heat at all? I make mine with frozen alcohol frozen weed then combine and soak and then strain. I run it through a magnetic stirrer and lose all my alcohol , not recover and reuse but no heat ever... .. Dang wrote this while watching the vid and was excited when i saw that many empty carts thought you were going to fill all of them. i read below 5 carts .. I guess that around 20 a cart minus expenses and you know what your getting.. thanks for vid and making supplies easy for people.

It’s not made with pure heat as it has a vacuum, so it’s not rso, you could all it honey oil I suppose. Decarbing is to make it thinner for vapes like I said in the video. No other reason.

I have thought that with the cannna butter machines, its basically like a tall coffee pot they have at AA meetings or a 3 gallon electric soup pot, just ad a lid that accommodates a hand held emulsifier and good to go. This machine way different then that . i just don't think the 4 gram return was incredible nor do i like using heat. The concept and the fact it makes it,recovers alcohol , decarbs that's a lot in a machine.. Is it worth 1300.00 they should send me one like lenovo sent me one , i did reviews on the large batch machine and is the only machine on the market that is similar to this one.

Why are you adding terps to a ethanol extract? It already contains the original plants terpenes, The only time you lose terpenes and need to add them is when you are using a short path distillation set up, Also your oil is dark because of the chlorophyll . After your extraction you could of winterized it and cleaned it right up and it would be nice and golden

I like the part where you did a room-temp ethanol extraction with air-dried flower, got the exact black goo you should expect from a room-temp ethanol extraction, then blamed the plant material. I get it, the EZ Bake Oven was popular in its simplicity... but it's oversimplifying vape-quality extraction in order to sell your appliance.

The plant material is a couple years old regardless. But yes of course properly chilled ethanol will perform much better but that’s not really within reach for the average consumer. Also I have no ownership or stake of this appliance, but it is a great entry level option, but that’s exactly what it is, a cheap entry level option. You’d need to spend an exponential amount more money to get a proper chilled extraction.

You can freeze both the herb and solvent with this machine for better results. Just don’t go past -40C as that is the limits of the materials (petg). Brother it may have to do a lil with flower age but really its the merlin. Your putting glorified rso and many rso's look even better then that often being triple distilled these days. The best youll get from the merlin us a dark amber by no means are you reaching the hues of many of the carts n pods you see on market and not distty but resins and rosins even. Just cant be done with that heating times and with ethanol in that matter. If it was a quicker wash maybe but tge way that thing works. Love your channel just not this device, id even go the blast route n heat vac seal purge n add terps to that before id ever use this or recommended for anything other then tincture, edibles, straight rso to anyone. Why not fill an insulated thermos with biomass. Pre chill your solvent with 10$ of dry ice. Pour Solvent into thermos, soak. Cut open 5-10 micron rosin bag and stretch it across opening with rubberband and pour? Roto the ETOH out and not smoke solvents? (or make a cheap $60 vac oven from home depot) This JANKY machine is clownshoes.

I have an issue with decarbing where it'll take many hours, like 5-7 hours to even if I go up to 240-250 degrees Fahrenheit. Have you ever experienced that and is it true 250 is the highest you want to go?

Yes don’t go over 250, you can do it around 226 the lowest or so (just off the top of my head if my numbers are off) but don’t go over 250 or under the low. It shouldn’t ever take that long though, you might have been purging solvent with the heat if it bubbled that long.

It comes from how they're printed, it's essentially not solid molecularly. Any chemical processes is going to perpetuate this. Shits wack, don't use this product. It's also $1000 which... Blows my fucking mind. How are you going to use additive manufacturing... Which is traditionally for prototypes... Shits wack. The proper material would be Surgical Grade Steel or Titanium, and Glass. Not some plastic outta someone's ender 3 clone. Tell this company to do better.
