Hi there! I just found your channel after searching "Oklahoma foragers." Glad your channel popped up:) I've had wild plums in the freezer since I harvested them from the church yard trees on our little road. Now I know exactly what I'm going to do with them. I read in a previous comment on how to extract the juice. How easy is that?! Jelly...here we come!

That looks really good. If we get to OK this summer, we'll have to look for those plums. You changed your channel name. Maybe you did that a while ago and I missed it. Fun! Fun video! Cheers Lacey!

You should Rich & Holly!!! They are found everywhere--also I could ship some to you, I’m always nervous to mail! Ahhh! & Yes, the name was definitely thought over a bit… we think it fits us better as a family of 8 kids running around our acres. I hope you both are doing well! --lacy 🤓

I have 2 questions; 1. How long do you hot water bath? 2. How do you remove pits and do you chop the plums finely? Mine are also wild plums God bless you mama ! You have helped me SO much!!! I’ve never done anything like this before and you made it not so intimidating Also, CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your upcoming baby ❤

Thank you-your so kind! I process 10 minutes for my pint jars. 👍🏻 I don’t actually pit or chop--I just boil the fruit down in about 1-2inches of water and smash with a potato masher or one of those meat choppers, that really does the trick. Then strain in cheese cloth OR a nylon milk bag 👍🏻 (I’ve honestly even used a metal strainer--it works too) I’m so glad you got to pick plums!!! Our bushes this year didn’t produce in my area. It seems to be an every other year harvest for us. Happy canning! --lacy 🤓
