To change hairstyles, make a clone of the character and name them something that denotes what it is (JANE_ponytail for example). Then change the display name to Jane, and you're done!

Adding, when going through the outfits maybe don't use [ Sort by: Newest first ] I would recommend changing it to the [ Sort by: Most recently updated ] I believe episode cycles out some of the older outfits they have just for Episode official type writers to use, probably old gem choice type clothing options that aren't technically "new" to episode so they don't show up at the top of the new outfits category, I've seen outfit pieces at the top of the [ Most recently updated ] page but when changed to [ Oldest first ] they'll be near the top of that list also, so I think the older official clothes get sent to the free/ unofficial users way after they are out of date for the official/payed users, meaning they won't show up at the top of the [ New ] sorting option, even if it's new to us it's not new to the clothing roster and wont show up at the top where it should. For example: 'Transparent Top Lace Red' is the newest shirt in [ Most recently updated ] but if I switch to [ Oldest first ] for [ Show All Tops ] it's pretty close to the top of the oldest input shirts, the shirt listed before it is the 'Striped Football Top Polyester Neptune White' and the shirt after it is the 'Long Sleeve Button Up Lace Collar Cotton Blue Oxford', if that tells you how old this shirt really is in the Episode catalog. Now I could be wrong and maybe these clothes are actually new to everyone and they just made this shirt a long time ago and figured just now to release it? Since I'm not an official writer or a payed user idk how different the clothing options could be from us free users but I do know that some of the " new " clothes we get aren't new to Episode so don't just leave the [ Newest first] as your sort by b/c it doesn't change what's at the top all that often and you might be missing out on some cute clothes that you wont know are there till you scroll much further down than should be needed. P.S. Some outfit items don't show up where they should like the 'Bobby Pin Cotton Metal Black' don't show up in the [Accessories] or in any category that isn't one of the Sort by: options or a color only search, so just keep this in mind as well when scrolling in the clothes b/c some times they don't add things to the tabs they should be under.

Also Joseph, you CAN have spaces, all my clothes have spaces in their names and there is no problem in the coding for it ex: Opal Casual 1 Is still considered a valid outfit name.

Glad I've been able to help! Yes to both of your questions - your reader's character will remain in whatever outfit you put them in, or whatever outfit they choose in a dressing game, until you change them out of it in your script, even across multiple chapters. And it's exactly the same for character customization. The web previewer is glitchy, and will often change your outfits and stuff, but just ignore it - your readers will see the correct outfit 🙂

hi I haven't seen any other comments about this but when you make a new outfit you have to select who gets the outfit but for some reason some people don't pop up and I don't know what to do since I need someone to wear a different outfit and I saw this in your vid

Oh! something I just discovered with the clothes, if you try to use the 'Inner shirt cotton' tops ( the ones that show up in the tattoo tab ) they compete for the same layer as the tattoos so if your character has a chest/arm tattoo they will glitch out a bit like the inner shirt might be all gone other than the turtle neck and maybe the sleeves (this did not show up in the outfit creator btw, it wasn't till after I was writing the character into the story that this glitch showed up in the preview ) and now I'm gonna have to go through all my character outfits to see where this glitch could be happening in all my stories... I have so many outfits guys... So many characters... As a little side annoyance, chest and arm tattoos taking up the same space aka the entire torso, so you can't have the heart and roses chest tat with any arm tat is super annoying like why are arm tats considered taking up the same spots as chest tats when they are different places on the character models? I just want to mix and match tats :/

I know that I'm a bit late but if you're able to see this or if anyone else who knows how to do this sees this, can they let me know how to get ombre hair for other characters, like when they have brown fading into blonde hair. Yes you would have to Create another outfit and just add the hat to that outfit!

Under the [Save outfit] button there is the [ copy outfit] button where you put a new outfit name, make sure the outfit being copied is saved before hand just incase copying doesn't save your outfit progress on it's own. Ex: Amber Beach Outfit ---The new outfit name can be entered into the [ Enter new outfit name ] box with something like: Amber Beach Outfit Hat Hit the the Copy Outfit button and the outfit will be copied to a new save and you can add or take away parts of the outfit that you want to with out having to start from scratch. Or one I've used was Liam Work 1 Liam Work 1 2 Liam Work 1 3 Or add a ( - ) between the numbers so the outfits stay in order with each other and its easy to remember what outfit tittle comes next when changing outfits if they change into a slightly different version of an outfit. Also just incase you were asking about animations to use there are undress animations if you want to show they are fully changing or the tried and true dust off animation for changing on screen. Hope this is helpful.

I think I know what you mean, You have to click on the characters name and then change it without clicking any other buttons than you need to because once I done a button on my mouse and it changed to another character when i was changing my main and yh sorry if this didnt help

Hello, every time I go to change my characters outfit during science changes - @CHARACTER changes into (whatever I names it) it makes the character change into that outfit throughout the whole episode. So if I am in a new scene and decide to change the outfit of that character it changes into that outfit for every scene. SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!

At the start of every scene you would have to say @Charecter changes into Charecter_default (or whatever the outfit is named) and change it for each scene.

You'll have to scale them every scene, unfortunately. It's a huge hassle and might not be worth it unless the height difference is important.

You have to go like this: Characters_name (what you want it to say) so for example mine would be, LIV (what I want it to say) and mine saying something like hi would be, LIV Hi!

Make a duplicate character with a different hairstyle, give them a name that lets you know what style it is, then change the Display name to their original name.
