Katie!!! Girl--LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how you lift up other soap makers and content creators (and the rest of us!). Also love that you don't feel the need to 'hard sell' your beautiful products with your videos but just seem to genuinely enjoy sharing the fun of creating with all of us who watch, whether we are soap makers or simply soap making voyeurs. This is one of the many reasons I watch your videos. 💖

I make soap, and you bring some techniques to life that I have only ever seen done by people who are trying to hide the process. I thank you for that. You also show me what some of the colorants actually look like. Some companies don't show the soap in regular light, so it never seems I get what I see on the computer. And the fact that you show us the reality of some ingredients-like acceleration, it makes other soapmakers feel like they aren't alone when some things get more challenging than they anticipated. I really do enjoy your videos! And all of y'all's quirkiness just adds to the fun. Best of all, you really are having fun, so it shows. I love the suggestion below of Royalty Oats for a name.

lovely soap! for all beginning soapmakers out there, keep in mind that the acceleration occurs when you add to your soap any additive that has simple carbs in it (sugars) -- so soaps with any "milk", be it animal, nut or otherwise plant-derived, are likely to produce some degree of acceleration, no matter how cold your working environment is.

I only ever cook oatmeal on the stove! But here in Sweden the tradition is to cook the oats in a bit of water with a pinch of salt, and then serve it with milk and maybe some berries, jam or syrup on top. I like to just put light brown syrup (basically liquid brown sugar) on mine, or some raspberry jam. And one of these days I really need to try to get my hands on one of the soaps you make! They just all look so amazing! And this coming from someone who has been using liquid hand soap exclusively for years! But yeah, I totally need a Royalty Soap soap bar, and I do need to get myself a pretty soap dish for it as well to really have it on display! I live alone but do appreciate little details that make my home a bit more cozy and homey, and a nice, handcrafted bar of soap on the bathroom sink is one such detail :)

How interesting! I recently found out I'm allergic to them (major sadness!) but my husband can still have them, so I might have to make some savory oats. I used to use them as the filler in meatloaf (because I can't do bread crumbs or crackers either). Really nice way to keep it moist and tender while adding in some extra protein and fiber!

When I was in college, we had to use the dorm kitchens, which were always a mess. In our rooms, we were only allowed microwaves and electric kettles. I still hated the texture of microwave oatmeal, so I learned to love pouring boiling water over my oats and letting it sit for 5-7 minutes before garnishing and eating. I still do it that way today, even though it's been over 6 years since I've lived in a dorm, lol. My father does the same thing, but he pours freshly brewed coffee over the oats instead of boiling water.

Hey! I’m really impressed that you made homemade oat milk for this video. Store bought oat milk has many stabilizers in it that keep it from thickening and gelatinizing once it gets hot. I haven’t found a homemade oat milk recipe that you can heat without it getting gloopy and slimy and I’ve been looking for years! I suspect that’s why the soap got so thick so fast but nevertheless the results turned out great!!!
