I have a theory. You need heat to make cotton candy. Some blenders do actually produce heat, the super high end ones usually. I feel like it could work with the right blender.

Well it's a specific line of blender called thermoblenders that produce heat and I don't believe most of them can get as warm as a candy floss machine does, the ones I've used wouldn'¨t be able to at least. I don't know if newer models would be able to handle the job

@@woahwhoosh1867 According to a Google search, cotton candy machines run around 300-400°F, and thermomixes can go up to around 400°, so in theory it could work. But I was actually just referring to regular blenders in my original comment, now knowing the actual temp needed for cotton candy I doubt it would work in a regular one. I was basing it on the fact my dad had gotten a new blender, some $600 ninja or something, idk, and when he made tomato soup, he put everything in at room temp and after he pureed it, it was almost 200 degrees. *Edit* Another search tells me what I'm referring to and failed at explaining is what's called waste heat. Heat basically transfered to the liquid by the movement of the blades.

@@DVnc_ steam is any hot evaporated liquid. This is just sugar dust coming out from the blender breaking it down.

You need heat so the Suger can sorta melt..And since the machine are usually open the heat of the Suger kinda turns into string cause of the room temperature cooling it a bit.

Well, when I was little and we needed to make frosting my mom put granulated sugar in the blender to turn it into powdered sugar. Once there was a little left over and we decided to sweeten the tea with powdered sugar. It tasted particularly horrible for some reason, so never try it.

Food processors have the same type of motor that a cotton candy maker has ,not a blender. I have a Hamilton blender trust me, that will destroy my blender and overheat and caused an electric fire. Also being said if you’re gonna make cotton candy sweet baby doll I know you may may be young but you know how to read so find a recipe because your ingredients the reason it was steaming do you put way too much powdered sugar with regular gray needed sugar and you overheated the blade Darlin. Find a recipe next time don’t just see something off the Internet and say oh I’m gonna go do it the lack of common sense and kids my age and younger is ridiculous. Blessed be.

This has been proven time and time and time again to not work there is no way a blender get hot enough to melt sugar. I’d venture a guess you burned out the battery in that blender tho. Powdered sugar with more powdered sugar is what you got. This is how we learn tho. Curiosity is a beautiful thing just be safe about it. Research is a great thing
