The British did some great, diverse comedy. Alan Partridge, The Office, Only Fools, Fawlty and Bottom. All world class, unbeatable comedy and yet all quite different to one another. Nowhere else comes near any of them in terms of gold standard

i think they could have done a 4th series, even when they were much older. The idea that they'd be still bachelors in their 40&50s would have fit their characters very well.

@@plasmaastronaut they did a movie set after the series called “Guest house paradiso” (1999) it features Richie and Eddie owning the worst hotel in Britain. I will say the violence and humour in the movie feels forced at some points.

Bottom is one of those shows that’s not aged well. I loved it as a kid but it’s all a bit too slapstick and exaggerated, like many sitcoms of its time. The humour feels really dated as a result.
