I love my MInt and this video has helped me learn more. On the photograph of the girls, I think I would edit out the background before I import the photo to turn it into a stamp. I love that I can take a photo and turn it into a stamp! Very cool!

Thank you for all info. I use my Mint often. I place a pc of foam under paper and cardstock to get beautiful stamped images.

I only discovered the Silhouette mint on youtube yesterday, I heard somewhere that it was going to be discontinued, I hope not as I think it's a great product, are there plans to develop it further? I haven't seen any other stamp maker on the market like this.

The printed image is flat or slightly recessed, and not protruding, so stamp pads do not work. You do need to use the Mint ink that is absorbed into the stamp for best results.

There is only one type of ink used in the Mint stamps, and they are all colored. Silhouette does not offer an embossing ink.

Does the machine stamp accept any type of normal ink? Because I tried several inks from different brands and only the company's ink was accepted

Seems to be a great tool but what's the minimum type size to use please. So is it possible to use it as a usual business (contracts, etc.) stamp? Thanks

You can get quite small with your fonts, but the minimum would just depend on what font you are using. The software will let you input down to 1.0 pt size, but you want it to be legible. I often use around 14 pt for address stamps, but it can go smaller. You can certaintly use it as a business stamp. You can even import your signature as an image to make a signature stamp.

I would recommend stamping onto sticker blanks for applying to poly bags instead of stamping onto the plastic itself.

You do not need a Silhouette cutting machine. The Mint stamp maker is a stand-alone machine with its own software, Mint Studio.

I've seen people use Mint stamps on fabric, but I would not trust its permanence for multiple washes. There is only one version of the Mint ink and it was not created for clothing.

All you need is the Mint machine, the software for your computer, and the stamp supplies. The machine comes with four inks and two stamps, so you will need to purchase more stamp kits to make more than just two stamps. All the stamps you make are considered custom stamps. :)

@@kerrie9121 regular ink refills aren't designed the same way. I tried it and you need to re-ink often.

Silhouette Mint ink has a different formula and thickness than regular stamp refills, so the Mint ink is your best choice. Stamp pads do not work with Mint stamps, as it must be absorbed into the printed stamp.

Thank you for the tutorial. I have a png image the when I apply the standard filter is very pixelated. I adjusted the brightness all the way down and it's still pretty bad. I vectorized the image saved it as a png. I appreciate any help. Thanks

The image does tend to go a little pixelated with filters applied, but usually it's not a problem. Not every image will work well as a stamp, so you may need to try the different filters or use a different image.

By the time you clean off the ink, the stamps are really faint

Make sure you let it soak in enough. Then stamp several images to get the rest of the extra ink off. You shouldn't really need to clean any ink off with a cloth or your finger.

Oh no. I really love my portrait and I am sure I will love my soon be here cameo 4, too. And as much as I love stamping the mint is an interesting machine. But when I watch this, I see there is so much waste included in every stamp. Even if this were sold in a sale at my next door shop it would be a no go for me, I want to craft environmentally friendly. And as if this wastly product isnt enough, you show how to make stamps that are already placed on the table. Boooh. We have just one world. As a big company you should be interested to not harm this world nor the nature. Do care, please
