Making Cyberpunk Look Amazing on an RTX 2060! | Cyberpunk 2077 Graphic Mods

The lighting and reshade mods for this game remind me a lot of my experience modding The Witcher 3, meaning they don't really improve the game's visuals they just make it different. So many people are hopping on this "Hyper-realistic Cyberpunk" modlist and trying to charge for reshades locked behind patreon subscriptions. None of those mods are objective improvements, they make the game look more realistic in certain lighting/weather conditions, but that's only like half the time. Half the time it just looks less colorful and more boring version of the game. They also worsen your performance most of the time meaning you have to sacrifice resolution or graphics settings. So I really can't imagine that being worth it for anyone who isn't using a 40 series GPU or something equally as strong.

also it takes HOURS and hours to just sift through the mods and settle for one that you like, and THEN compare it to vanilla and still see if you like, by all that time you could have finished the game.

i used to use reshade presets for games..but since i learnt how to customize my own. I just do my own now. The most demanding shaders are the Ambient light/AO and DOF types and Bloom. which by deafult uses a setting of"0" it makes next to no difference going to "2" other then better fps....alot of these presets i see are using stupid amounts of plugins which is totaly a waste on resources.. you can get great results with just a few. which wont even lower your fps.

Thats not even true LUT's have no influence on performance. Reshade will usually only mess with latency depending on shaders being used. Also Cyberpunk isnt smooth on any card that isnt high end, 3070ti isnt even enough for cyberpunk dlc for instance. Yeah its less colorful but oversimplification since it doesnt flatly remove all color. Maybe something in between would be better but vanilla cyberpunk is really garish.

I got a buddy on a 3060 playing with rtx on medium and most settings on medium/high getting around 45-80fps depending on where he is in the map. Thats before the FG mod.

@@MarylandDevin absolutely fine FPS! I play on a 3080 w/1440p display and I bog down to 45 in dense areas. But this is a single player game so I don't care how much fps I get as long the game feels smooth (no stutters) and looks good most importantly.

Worth mentioning that some people reported switching textures to medium from high resolved many out of memory/lag issues in Dogtown. Likely a memory leak issue (on top of being a more demanding area). And for me personally, switching to medium textures allowed me to max every other setting and play smoothly even outside of Dogtown, while having textures on high caused fps drops even with everything else on low. Idk how relevant that is to Nvidia users since I'm with RX Vega but worth trying. Not a big difference in most things visually imo.

To add: from patch 1.62 to 2.0, the system requirements bumped up. Including the amount of VRAM needed. I was surprised how much stutter I experienced without any texture addition mods with Textures on High; while previously I didn't have issues. Now I realized this, and put Textures on medium. I also added the Frame Gen mod that - drum roll - ADDS VRAM usage. But now I can at least play Cyberpunk over 100 FPS at times, while looking great, and just on a 2060!

I have a 2060 aswell. You should 100% download the ghosting fix mod that helps against ghosting on vehicles cuz of fsr3. I use the extreme version of the mod which eliminates the ghosting

1:20 - DLSS Performance is rednder only quarter of screen resolution - 960*540 for FullHD screen isn't enough, on FullHD evem quality dlss preset is rendered at 720p

If I understand it right, you use GITS Kuria with the NovaLUT, but don't they just overwrite one anohter? From what's on the mod page, Kuira is only a LUT as well. Or are you using the Kuria LUT from GITS and the ENVs from NovaLUT? Great video anyways, your tips on settings helped me quite ab bit!

The issue is that Kuria is abandoned post 3.X release. So only Legacy and Fuji are the only ones, with a few others have only gotten the ENV versions, but sadly not the Kuria one.

Nice video man. I run fsr and reflex on my 3050 with an i5 11400f in mostly ultra settings. Edit and I run dlss quality and usually average around 65-ish. No rt still.

recently upgraded my pc from i7 7700k 16 gigs of ddr4 ram to i5 13600k and 32 gigs of ddr5 but i'm still keeping my RTX 2060, the card still holds up in 2023 especially at 1080p, but i'll probably get a 1440p monitor soon and with that i'll buy either RX6800xt or 4070 super

I still get the frame gen artifacting while driving on a 2080Ti at 1440p while nowhere near my vram capacity. I think it's just a case of the mod not being built from the ground up to run optimally with cyberpunk. I still get reasonable framerates without frame gen though so I'll leave it off until there is official implementation.

GITS has 2 prerequisite mods that also have like 5 prerequisite mods themselves, some of which ALSO have prerequisite mods. installing everything bricked my game and I had to reinstall. Would have been nice to include installation instructions in the video since I can't find any for these "3" mods anywhere. I was excited to try this but I don't want to reinstall cyberpunk over and over through the trial and error of trying to get it all to work.

welcome to modding. its funny cause cyberpunk modding is actually the most easy out of a game to mod. you just drag and drop into main game files... if its not working for you its cause you weren't reading stuff on the nexus mods pages. literally modding is hard. but when it comes cyberpunk its beyond easy. again if your game is crashing and wont work you didn't read the nexus pages and its comments. could be MANY reasons why a mod doesn't work even if it was installed right. if you find this hard.... then just stop modding man. again most easy game to mod.

this is absolutely insane seeing it on a 2060 run like that... good optimization goes a long way, especially u didnt used mods that improved fps by reducing in game settings... you installed mods that make it look "better" without fps loss.... and i love this kinda gray too... i noticed it in gta 4 and in fallout 4 that this exact color tone make things look lot more realistical and textures pop alot different

Did you use the balanced or ultra version of HD rework? I'm assuming performance but nice to have a solid answer. And yeah, the issue of the ghosting around the bottom/edges of screen from frame gen is known and only happens when moving at high speeds(Dashing and Driving makes it super obvious).

I used the ultra version since it didn't seem to cause too much a performance cost. Yeah I'm still exploring possible fixes for the ghosting but overall it's still a really nice feature to have on 20 & 30 series cards

I don't think nova lut gives that real life vibe when you're not cranking everything to max, with all path tracing on. Without path tracing, nova lut just seems like turning contrast down on your monitor. I think you should try just GITS.

Nice, I also use a very similar setup, except I have reshade active but with ambient lighting, dpx, curves, magic bloom, etc. Its pretty good. I would also suggest you play with the brightness/gamma setting as it can make a large visual difference with zero performance cost. I find CP2077 to be too bright and washed out at default settings.

I have the best gaming hardware you can get right now, no hardware is capable of running Cyberpunk with every setting maxed out, it relies on upscaling which is a gimmick technology, there's no point in having all that pretty post processing if it can't run natively because if you actually sit there and play it for a while you will notice over all image quality degradation. The reality is, hardware isn't ready for RTX yet, the performance hit is way too high to be worth using, that's why it relies on upscaling but then what's the point of that if you're sacrificing the sharpness of the over all image you're seeing? My hardware is capable of running RTX on high at 60 FPS without upscaling, but I just turn that crap off, just not worth it, even SSR isn't worth the performance hit imo I just roll max quality texture mods, sharpening, shadows, and color correct, ~160 FPS and the game looks crazy.

I have a 2060 and turning on the ray tracing, but only enabling the localized shadows option does not affect fps at all. I currently run between 85-120 fps consistently.

try out nova lut + rtpt with ray tracing medium lighting quality and raytraced reflections + framegen, sounds really specific but oh well, i have a 6650 xt and sometimes get like 20 fps (bottlenecked by a ryzen 5 1600) so i wanna know what kinda fps i could get with a better cpu

Hmm, this is why realism isn't always for the best, the city looks way better with saturated colours and contrast, which something like the E3 colorgrade mod does. This dull realistic look is cool in its own way but it's just not as visually appealing.

16GB RAM is enough on a laptop. Mods work just line on desktop but the performance of a 2060M is gonna be tough, 1080p at medium (no RT of course) at best if you want to hit 60fps constantly with DLSS enabled

Cyberpunk 2077 is the #1 reason for me being disappointed in my RTX 3060, because all you get is compromises upon compromises in graphics menu. Each time I launch the game with RTX in 1440p (let alone 4k), it makes me wanna throw this graphics card into a trash can. And, in my humble opinion, buying RTX card not to have ray tracing on undermines the very purpose of such purchase.

Because the 3060 is better suited to rendering, or any other task where you just need lots of raw VRAM but don't care about throughput. Cyberpunk pushes RT pretty hard, and expecting that to perform flawlessly on entry level hardware is a fool's errand. You want a 3080 at the least, plain and simple. Even then, RT is still too new of a tech for it to be performant in any way, shape or form. It's eye-candy, nothing more. Not some magical voodoo that's going to give you 144fps at 4k with path tracing.

​@@Drew.DrivesYT I remember, back in 2015 when the Witcher 3 came out, I switched from 660 GTX to 970 GTX and could max out every single game form like 4 years since then (granted, in 1080p, not in 2k/4k). Used that card for about 7 years and it worked perfectly with great performance in most of the titles. RTX 3060, sadly, doesn't give you this feel of pushing the FPS boost button. It makes you feel like you've bought a ticket to a train that has already departed from your station 5 hours ago. Not even mentioning the fact, that with cryptocurrency trends this shitty gaming experience cost me three times as much as 970 GTX back in the days.

I would leave SSR on medium and run High Ambient occlusion with the gained fps (or just enjoy having more fps) and switch Color Precision to high since it doesn't cost any fps. Also.....19 gigs of RAM usage??? Do you have Chrome and Discord running in the background by any chance? In 1080p, even with HD Reworked project and 8GB of VRAM, that is not normal for this game.

I have a 16gb card and could see 10+ but my 3080 10gb never saw more than 9gb at 3440x1440p DLSS quality and Ultra RT. Although I did go down to balanced as to get 60+ a lot more.

Nice video.. But, I had a lot of problems with this HD Reworked mod. I performed several fresh installations because every time I activate this mode the game crashes! Sometimes it's in a specific location on the map or in a mission, but the game always closes! I've already done tests installing just it without any other mods and it kills the game just the same! :(

I have tried this on rtx 4060 on 1080p with pyscho drive and dlss frame gen . trust me after a while this looks boring. the game looks best with it's natural look. you escape from reality by playing games not the other way around. all these photo realistic mod takes half the fun away. the games better be looking vibrant and colorful than looking less colorful less contrast with these so called photo realistic shit. all these video only bring benefit the video uploaders only lol

Cool. It may look worse at your place but it's borderline 1080p and 80fps - this is good - this is level of quality you need latest console for. He should be able to combine 1440p + rt reflections + dlss + rr + FSR3FG and that should look decent even to you. It's not 4k path tracing but you cannot have it either. My 7900xt is fun - it can sometimes reach your 4090 but in some other cases it can be 10x slower - without OC/UV/tweaks it looses half of performance - it's like cheap expensive card.

Generally I am a fan of gpus giving full power to their users. XT can overclock by 34% - it's near free performance. There are many tricks that double fps - you can do 16x more in Cyberpunk pt.
