One of the blessings of having a church community is that when you need a little extra help - you can help each other out. One of my church friends had her fourth baby and so I was excited to bring in a meal to help out a little while mom and baby get some rest. What should I make for dinner? How about a comforting chicken soup with homemade french bread?

I learned from a friend to purchase casserole dishes and pretty containers at the thrift store. Then when you take food to someone, they can just keep the container or pay it forward later. Thought you might enjoy that idea since y’all are the thrifting family. Lol

I have a great hint for cutting onions and I promise it works! The fumes from onions are drawn to moisture so this is why it attacks the eyes. When you're cutting the onions, put a VERY damp (wet) wash cloth next to your cutting board. It will draw most of the fumes. 🙂

Eve helping was my favorite part of this vlog. She was so dedicated. Meghan you’re smart. Not a lot of people would think of leaving the bread in the oven after a power outage. Also, you’ve immediately thought about the relation between light alternatives and the heat they can cause. The hilarious part when you were in a hurry to head out with your apron still on. Soup is always great. Have you thought of cold soups for the summer? I wanna try it one day.

I live my instant pot. Boiling a dozen eggs with a cup of water in 4 minutes. A 6 pound frozen hen in 35 minutes. I made homemade veggie soup with potatoes, carrots, purple onion, fresh cream peas, fresh tomatoes, garlic and fresh sweet corn. The liquid was chicken broth made by using better than bullion chicken stuff. In 30 minutes, perfectly cooked. No grease on the top. I'm lying in a hospital bed now, on a liquid diet, that soup broth looks so good. Yummmm
