Try corn starch next time idk if anyone’s said that. I’m Chinese and I’ve made this a ton with my grandma on holidays before she passed. Corn starch doesn’t melt like powder sugar does your hands are warm and the candy you are using already has a ton of sugar in it. The corn starch will help get the strands nice and coated and it will be easier to press and the strands will be finer too. I hope that helps!
@Pearl_vr.10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I tried the hi chew method with the powdered sugar and it wasn’t that good because it kept going into the same strand but the corn flower worked so well

@@Yaboi_Phantom i know its so hard! I coat my hands in it and rub it onto the folds but try what works for you
@Chunnie0210 ай бұрын
@@Yaboi_Phantom my grandma and I would use a cookie tray and pour the cornstarch on it and then coat the mixture in it and press with our hands. Keeping our hands coated in corn starch always helped. It’s like dough, you wanna keep flour on the surface and sprinkle flour to keep stuff from sticking right? Same application

When you make dragons beard candy, you should be squeezing not pulling. If you stretch it by pulling to make it thin it’s going to snap but if you squeeze it while coated in starch or sugar it’s stops it from clumping.
