It is actually not of the Jade family. The name is Portulaca Africana. Often called "Elephant trunk". Also comes in a varigated variety. Great for propigating cuttings.

With Portulacaria afra it is better not to water for a few days - a week after repotting. This is a succulent, so the roots will grow out in search of water, which will help stabilize the plant in the pot.

If the soil is a bonsai specific blend ESPECIALLY if there is akadama or vermiculite the soil must have moisture or it will burn the roots. Bonsai specific soil is very close to hydroponic medium; you need to read up.

Good video Thanks for Sharing.Im kinda scared when it comes to repot ,I have a Portulacaria Afra I got it from the ground I let it grow there for 2 years and wow nice thick trunk so I decided to train it to bonsai I put it on a 1 gallon nursery pot put some soil and pruned some branches and some leaves I still left some few leaves after a day i noticed the leaves that I left is getting thin is this normal to happened when repot ?

Hey there! It's a copper wire! You can get from nearby shop if you can't find! You can get from us as well! And you need to try little harder to find bonsai pot from nursery! Most of them don't keep bonsai pots in India!

Water your tree once soil is dry! With my soil mix! If you water too much, it won’t hurt your tree as it’s well drainage soil!

No it's not. The soil should be at least twice the depth of the main trunk.
