If I call Epson I can only make 13 x 19 inch (max) prints, thanks for posting this, it really helps. Now I need to find the paper.
@KeithCooper2 жыл бұрын
Ah - practical experience sometimes trumps Epson support 'scripts' ;-) :-) There is a more limited range of paper in 13" rolls. The thing to take care with is to let it rest and remove strong curl.

Top work Keith. Have you tried an A3+ paper size? I've read that model will cope with sizes up to 1.2m long. What sizes have you tested on her? Again, thanks so much for this, it's great watching. Well paced and edited and super useful for a potential buyer ;-)

It's to bad the front tray didn't extend further out for the big prints. My Epson 1430 Artisan had the longer front tray, so, no curling.

Thanks for all the info, Keith. I got the 15000 after watching you handle it for a few weeks. Again, thank you. I have a question for you. You mentioned a cutter a couple of times. I am trying to figure out what cutter to buy to cut roll paper to size. I already have a large vinyl cutter/plotter capable of cutting thick card stock. Is this what you mean?
@KeithCooper Жыл бұрын
Thanks - yes, I have a similar roller cutter, and a smaller version which is easier to use on a desktop

How do you connect xp 15000 to the Print Layout software? It's not showing up when I open the application.
@KeithCooper3 жыл бұрын
On a Mac it can happen when you've selected the airprint driver by mistake www.northlight-images.co.uk/epson-xp-15000-printer-review/ I've heard it fixing by re-installing the printer driver as well

Thank you! Love your videos, do you have problem with cardstock printing? I've seen some people cannot print cardstock (300gsm) on this printer... I like the colors tho
@KeithCooper3 жыл бұрын
Thanks The problem is not usually the weight, but the surface coating, so the card simply won't print well whatever aqueous inkjet you use. ...cheap card = rubbish prints ;-) That said, this is a fairly low end home printer though, so trying to be cheap and do much with it is always potentially going to be problematic. I did not notice any feed issues, but thicker paper does need care in loading

Hi Keith, I am really struggling trying to find a custom size option on either the printer (XP15000) or Epson software even though I followed your instructions and having no luck. Is there something I'm missing? thanks Tony

I don't know - have you read the proper [written] review? www.northlight-images.co.uk/epson-xp-15000-printer-review/ Mac or PC - if Mac, then make sure you've not selected the AirPrint driver by mistake

@@KeithCooper thanks Keith. I just picked up the Canon Pro-100. Can you do a video on "profiles"? Not sure I understand that and color correction? Please sir..
@KeithCooper3 жыл бұрын
That's a vast subject - actually several vast subjects. Printer paper profiles 'just work' if you use them at the right place in printing (such as shown in the Canon software) Colour correction depends on the software you use for processing - there is no general answer. I do have a new monitor to test, so will try and address aspects of it in some videos

Would you recommend this printer for printing 254×889mm?
@KeithCooper3 жыл бұрын
Ah, I never actually recommend printers ;-) This one should handle that size - see the full written review as well www.northlight-images.co.uk/epson-xp-15000-printer-review/ It will benefit from a correct printer profiles, but these are often harder to find for lower end printers like this. The print in the video looked just fine though.

Superb - fills me with confidence. Keith, I came across a 4ft x 1ft led light panel and thought to use it as a backlight for B&W photographs. Please, could you point me in the right direction for media and settings? Very much obliged
@KeithCooper2 жыл бұрын
Can't help here with the media - contact a specialist media supplier. Here in the UK I'd ask someone like PermaJet or Fotospeed. Back lit film may need denser ink than the xp-15000 can deliver. There may also be neutrality issues with that ink set. Printing transparencies is far more than just getting the media. However, not having used any for testing, I can't give any specifics.

Interesting video! How long does a print last with this printer until it fades ? :
@KeithCooper3 жыл бұрын
Thanks It all depends on the paper and the conditions the print is kept under. With an archival paper and protected it could easily outlive any of us. It's not an area I study in detail - see here for more about claria inks www.wilhelm-research.com/epson/

Can anyone tell me how to fix my problem? I cannot print from adobe illustrator, using back feed, matte photo paper. It defaults to cassette printing. How long did it take to you to print that picture?
@KeithCooper2 жыл бұрын
I don't remember exactly - but 5-10 mins?
@warped_spacetime3 жыл бұрын
A poor man's alternative to pano paper is to carefully tape two sheets of A4 together (along the back). The tape needs to be thoroughly smoothed down so that there's no danger of edges lifting during printing. The printer oversprays the seam, which is barely noticeable from a normal viewing distance. As a bonus, the print can be folded back on itself for easy transport or storage.
@KeithCooper3 жыл бұрын
Maybe for some, but I would see that join every time I looked at the print.

Is this not from a different company? More to the point though is that I do my own printing direct from Photoshop. I include the Canon and Epson software in printer reviews since it's free and works well (and is the same on win/mac). That said, I'll give it some thought when I next get a higher end printer to test. The XP-15k just isn't at the level I'd want to test it with.
