Actually, the programming device part does not work for all ESP32 board models. So the error "Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header" appears, and the solution will not to be add capacitor etc. A solution for this is to use other development boards that have different serial converters, for example: ESP8266, ARDUINO DUE that WORKS FOR THIS PURPOSE. The only difference is that, on the Arduino board we take the reset for GND. Apparently there are two types of serial converters in ESP boards, some of them use the chip that has the CH340 driver that WORKS for it PERFECTLY, and others use CP210x driver that works with the esp8266 for this purpose. Some tests that I performed that do not work are: Arduino UNO model DIP and Arduino Mega. All tests were performed on the W10. I hope to help someone avoid the same headache that I had with this problem kkk

Can do this with the esp8266 nodemcu and i don't have a pcb what is the diagram?
@johnburgess2084 Жыл бұрын
Excellent! The most important thing I got out of this video is the need for the 2 resistors on those 4 pads. There was nothing in the package to suggest what goes there (I thought the chip had its own pull-up and pull-down where needed). I have an FTDI breakout, but even though the IOs are 3.3V, it's VCC out is 5V, so I'm using the 3.3V power from the dev board. I don't have it programming yet, though, because I don't have the resistors. Maybe I can find out where those resistor pads go and use "real" resistors that I can actually see and handle!
@Glanmire3 Жыл бұрын
Without any investigation, I presume those 2 pull-up resistors are for the push buttonts.
@johnburgess2084 Жыл бұрын
@@Glanmire3 On my sample of ONE, that was the case. Without the pull-ups, touching, or just getting my finger near the reset button, would cause the module to continuously reset. Sometimes it would not do anything. Adding a single 10k pull-up on the Reset line cured that behavior. It seems to be working fine, even though I did not use a PU on the GPIO 0 line

Really interesting thanks! I would be interested to see how to design a PCB containing the ESP32 chip and USB programming interface onto a single PCB, if designing a PCB. Hi, thanks for the great videos you've produced. I'm just wondering if you can consider making a video for programming MQTT to wemos D1 mini using Arduino platform with PubSubClient library or any other library which you find more stable. I would like to subscribe/publish to Mosquito broker in home assistant. I personal find that using Arduino with MQTT provide the most flexible way to introduce automation into home assistant because many people have the basic knowledge of programming Arduino in basic level. The only missing link is integration to home assistant. ESPhome is also flexible but is a bit difficult to pick up due to lack of sharing material in the community. Tasmota is easy but not flexible. Thanks again for your great work.
