It's following a trend. When Pokemon blew up in the 90's, everyone wanted to make their own pokemon. I'm surprised there aren't more copycats, PalWorld shook the game industry.

I think it's a bit more than that. Many of the designs are copied off of actual pokemon that are copyrighted. That's why they went after palworld. Stolen pokemon.

@@bugboy6502 they did not go after the "stolen" designs. From what I can tell the japanese copyright is first-come first-serve. When palworld released, nintendo renewed their patents for stuff that was included in palworld before they had the chance to patent it. Because of that, Nintendo was allowed to go in on Palworld even if its extremely scummy to do so with that move.

Just a reminder; game freak and nintendo went after palworld for copying pokemon, practically stealing their designs, which is copyrighted. This is why they left temtem alone; they were creative with their designs and the gameplay. Palworld and this sponser are painting a bullseye on themselves. I dont like that nintendo goes after everyone but given their history with this stuff palworld and this now palworld rip off are just asking for it...

They did not sue for designs. They sued because they patented the mount system and throwing (right after palworld released) before palworld was able to, which in the japanese copyright system; gives pokemon the right to go in. Its a scum move but its gamefreak and nintendo so ofc they would.
