My guess is that she researched it and spent money on better products. I use henna on my hair. Henna is red-slightly brown. So anything that comes out darker has indigo in it. Much of what is available that is labeled as henna isn't henna at all, it's indigo. And it's like putting deep brown-black ink on your face. She used the real stuff and it showed by how natural it looked. (By contrast, henna tattoos done by Indian women is very thick henna and it's left on for many hours so the pattern will set. Having had henna drip down my ears while I waited for my silver hair to dye, I can tell you it takes a few days of scrubbing to get rid of a heavy henna set on your skin for two hours.)

Dear Jenna, I would like to let you know that since I've seen this video three years ago, I do fake freckles on my face every couple of weeks or so when I wanna look a bit extra with SELF TANNER. That I bought just for this purpose. And they do ✨work✨ for me. All because of you Jenna. Thank you girl. (I also have brows that don't make sense and I fill them up with self tanner as well. To basically poop stain the bit of skin that is supposed to have hair and give that illusion 🥴🥴🥴 does it look natural? ... Maybe. It's a little late now for this, but here's a few tips and tricks for using henna: -The acid from the lemon helps it darken. You can apply a little lemon juice over top of your applied henna with a cotton swab. -The lemon juice/sugar mix is to apply over it once you're finished to keep it in place. The sugar makes it sticky and helps seal it in place while also simultaneously helping it darken with the help of the lemon juice and to help keep it moist. You'll likely want to reapply this periodically while you're awake to ensure it stays moist. You can also use a little hair gel or hair spray to keep it in place. -Heat helps the henna darken as well. Being outside in the heat (be careful not to sweat it off if you do) or using a blow dryer on mild heat can help a little. It doesn't do it instantaneously though, so keep that in mind. -Yes, you do have to keep it on for several hours. The longer you keep it on, the darker it will be. You can create different tones by varying the length of time you allow it to sit. If you ever choose to do henna tattoos or a more traditional mehndi, all of the above will be extremely helpful but there are a few other things specifically for designs: - Dextrose added to your henna paste will make it stringier and allow you to create unbroken lines easier. - The easiest thing to use to apply it with are mylar shaped into cones, kind of like a piping bag but smaller. - Another thing to keep your tattoo in place is wrap plastic wrap around it or tape down a piece of plastic wrap kind of like when you get an actual tattoo. This will help retain the heat and moisture, while also protecting it. I do suggest putting the sugar/lemon mix or a little bit of hair spray over it to make sure it sticks. If a piece flakes off under the plastic and sticks somewhere other than where it was suppose to be, you'll end up having a stain there as well. I think that's about it. I use to play around with mehndi when I was in middle school because I always loved my best friend's mehndi she would have after she went to a wedding (she's Sikh) and thought it was SO beautiful, so I learned a few things over time.
