Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I have been into RC for over 20 years and I just started building quads. I got an Omnibus F3 but I ended up getting another FC because I could not get it to connect to my PC. I finished 2 builds and decided to go back and look at the Omnibus. I put it under my scope and found that one tiny resistor was not soldered down on one side. I soldered it down and then it got recognized as a STM Virtual Port. Then the fun began. I NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET IT WORKING IN A MILLION YEARS without your video. The part where you have to go into the driver setup and go to Windows/USB device - I NEVER would have figured that out. Spent all day rebuilding my 1st quad using the Omnibus and just finished my maiden AND my first pack in full FPV. I'm totally stoked. Been flying helis for several years but FPV is so cool. Too bad it's going to be snowing soon here in Alaska, so I'll just have to practice with a simulator. Thanks for your fantastic videos!!

Watched this and his other video that he has linked in the description because I couldn't get my computer to even detect that I had plugged in a flight controller. Tried 2 different FC's on every available USB port, went through all the steps, still....nothing! The problem ended up being the cable that I was using to connect with. I tried 2 different cables with no luck, and then tried a third which worked! Not sure what the difference is between them. Once I was able to finally connect, I was then able to go through the steps that JC goes over in the videos. Definitely miss his videos; great instruction and attention to detail!

silicon labs cp210x usb to uart bridge (com5) been trying most the day, the f/c is a furibee f3, got it at half price (mistake I think) on the first hook up it connected first time no problem at all, then i put all 4 motors on the inductrix frame bound it to my x9d D8 mode all was fine solid blue hooked back up to c/f & im still trying to get back in, will wait for your reply before i put my size 10 foot on it !!! Also got 2 omnibus (great boards) 3 naze 1 cc3d all hook up to c/t & b/f fine , thanks for your time, over the pond (KEVIN),

I just took a look at it and I'm pretty sure its a CP210x board, so you're driver is right, you've got a com channel. I'm honestly not sure why its not working. The CP210x boards usually dont have any problems. Most of the problems come from the VCP boards. You've got me on this one. Guess its time to give it the size 10 haha. But seriously sorry about not having an answer.

For those who had trouble finding silicon labs file (i myself did) when it comes to updating just hit the "browse" tab and look into your downloads dile and find the driver that ypu just installed. Goodluck!

Cannot connect to Betaflight even after you loaded the driver onto your mac? It could very well be the USB cable you are using is a power charging ONLY cable. Find one with DATA transfer enabled. It should connect nicely. Most USB cables that came with your Android phone will work because it allows you to connect to your comp. Took me half a day to figure this out. Hope that helps.

Hoping this may help somebody else. I tried all you suggestions from both videos multiple times and uninstalled and re-installed over and over. Also uninstalled and reinstalled my USB ports but nothing worked. Eventually figured out it was the USB cord that was the culprit. The cord provided power but would not transfer data for connection. Switched cords and problem solved. Seams silly but if your having trouble try it!!

"ImpulseRC Driver Fixer Tool" fixed my Omnibus F3. Plug the FC in bootloader mode, start the ImpulseRC tool, it updates the DFU driver. Kill all Chrome processus (or reboot) and Betaflight sees a DFU port, flashing went OK.

in zadig, my colibri race flight controller comes up as unknown device. and when I go to replace (it says install on mine) the winusb like you said, it says driver installation failed (resource already exists)... helppp :(

I've tried everything on Win and Linux to get my cc3d recognized in boot mode. In Zadig and Device Manager, it says "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)." But when I flash back to Librepilot firmware, it recognizes it as CopterControl, but of course you can't flash in that mode. I have the STM USB VCP drivers. The CP210x Drivers won't install on Win 10, but I'm not even sure if I need those. This is a bear!
