Zahn loves to help, especially in “his” kitchen! 🤭 🐈 that reminds me of fruit roll ups or other similar snacks or lunch desserts. Thanks

When using the food mill, you can go around forward as you were, and if the food rides too high, you can turn it the other way, i.e., backward. When I use mine to make applesauce, it's two or three turns forwards, one backwards, and the food falls back into place so you can go forwards again. You can add spices to the fruit mixture, too, if you want to get fancy . I made some sliced strawberry leather adding a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. It's nice to roll it up, but I've also cut it into small strips like the size of a stick of gum. That can be handy when you want a taste or want to share more easily with others.

Cat said "I'm about some fruit whatever, what're we doin boss, whatcha got for me?" I love how often the animals will roll up to observe and passively interfere, it just makes me laugh. So i started on the brain tanning videos and made my way to ur cooking show here. Love all the advice and the general vibe, so u have a new subscriber.

I say it as pure-a, but to each their own. These homemade fruit leathers(fruit rolls ups) are really good. I tried a few different varieties, and each one was really good!

I think I'll be giving this a go as there are lots of blackberries growing in the hedgerows around my area ( UK South Coast ). I think I'll try adding some apple to it as apple and Blackberry go very well together. By the way, it's pronounced pure-ray. :)

The grandma of friend of mine from Thailand when I was a kid used to do this all the time with mango. She used waxpaper to lay it on and box fans to dry it. Took about 24 hrs

Spreading it out on parchment paper,(inside of a cookie sheet or shallow pan), when drying will prevent it from sticking to the pan.

When using a food dryer to make fruitleather you should use silicone mats to stop it leaking through. Really simple tocut them to fit in and you can use them multiple times.

Thank you Dave for the instructional food preservation videos! I have a small garden of fruit brushes at my apartment, as well as plentiful amounts of wild blackberries currently growing in my area of NorCal. So I'll try this out to make the bountiful amount of fruit here last as long as possible

This helps. We've got tons of berry bushes and waste much of the harvest each year. Fruit leather seems like a nice storage option. Thanks for sharing. 🔆👍

My husband and daughter went on a week long hiking trip and the had a taste of home . Also I cooked both hamburger chopped into little pieces and also taco meat and dehydrated that as well. There are two types of raspberries, the black raspberries, and the red raspberries, I have black raspberries at my house and also black Mulberry, as a matter of fact I just got through making Jam from the two. I'm going to get more black raspberries and make some pies and maybe I will freeze some, but this fruit leather looks excellent I've got to try that for my grandkids. Thank you so much for this video it certainly has been informative. I never knew how to make fruit leather it looks so easy. Thanks again for the video have a great day and stay safe and keep your powder dry and pick them berries!

Raspberry, Blackberry, and Elderberry picking always reminds me of my childhood. We'd all go out in different vehicles and swarm the roadsides picking any we could find that were ripe. Bring em home to prep to make more jelly than even grocery stores could imagine. Irony being that at that age I didn't even eat it, but I loved picking them. When I bought this house I discovered there were some raspberry bushes in the back yard and in the untended front flower patch. Now you've given me another idea :P Though, I remember many times getting this "Damnit why did you get that juice on *****, now it's ruined" lol
