Great video! Also, that intro was great. Around 2 days ago I was on the pts talking to a friend about people accidentally upgrading their crafted gear to gold and not realizing that they forgot the trait. While I was doing this, I preceded to deconstruct some gear that I crafted instead of improving it. At least it was on the pts.

@@ascenshin9360 The forum post that I referenced was from 2019, I haven't been able to find anything more recent. As I mentioned, the drop rate for me has been more like 1/3 in all of my time playing ESO, which is pretty darn close to what it looks like you've been getting as well. I think it's safe to say that as long as we continue to buy frostbite for much less than 1/3 of the price of the clasps, then we can really make a profit.

With Pan-elsweyr event coming up, decon the sets unless it's crafty alfiq(set to be used in upcoming no cp/no proc campaign). Shimmering sand might drop a bit during the event, just hold those until after the event. FARM the hell out of it though.

I see it happen a lot in my trading guilds as well! Someone will find a Briarheart Resto Staff and get excited and gold it out because they've heard good things about the Briarheart set but they fail to realize that it is a stamina DPS set, and that a resto is not going to have any value at all, besides maybe being used to fill out a "stickerbook". But even then, someone isn't going to buy a gold resto staff to do that haha So hopefully this video can help deter people from doing that! And thanks for the kind words :D

Even some sets from zones without public dungeons or places players like to go can be sold for at least 1k-2k by people that want to fill their sticker book, ut it might sit a while, so only if you have lots of empty guild trader slots

Thank you! The chest piece that I am wearing is the moongrave fane cuirass. And that hat is the “tsaesci hat”. Funny you mention that you main templar! A lot of Templars, funnily enough, tend to wear that hat (kind of like how sorcs love wearing that engine guardian helm style) to the point where many call it the “templar hat” 😁

Just a quick question, but I’m still relatively new to the game and I’ve been leveling up my crafting abilities. Should I sell old materials (Currently don’t have the craft bag and using bank space) such as cotton or sanded maple? Since I’m no longer using them in crafting writs, are they worth it to keep them, or are they going to be useful later?

That's a good question! Currently, those lower-level materials do not sell for too much gold. If you decide to create other characters some time down the road (which isn't a bad idea - many people play multiple characters AND they're nice to have for spamming daily crafting writs for gold and more materials) you may want to level up their crafting as well. So, having those lower-level mats will really be able to help you in that regard, as you will need them to complete writs. I myself do writs on a plethora of toons and not all of them are at lvl 50 in their crafting skill lines, so the old materials that I held onto really came in handy!

But traits can be easily changed so how does that lower the item's value? It can be done litereally by anyone even if you don't own clockwork city.

A lot of people do not have an easy means to change traits because they do not have a lot of transmutes! For those people, it’s easier to collect gold than it is transmutes, so they don’t mind paying significantly more to purchase an item in the ideal trait

My advice for new players is to deconstruct everything and only sell ornate items until they reach lvl 50 in crafting, then they can sell toa merchant, correct me if I m wrong

Sounds about right to me! Especially since you will want to lvl up your crafting early on to be able to craft yourself gear and benefit from deconstructing and refining passives!

If you are a total noobie to the game, go ahead and decon gear that is not valuable so that you may advance your skill lines. But once they are maxed out, you can get to applying the strategies discussed in this video :)

If you’re on PC NA you’re welcome to join our guild! It’s a social one that has a trader - and no dues! You could try selling stacks of upgrade and style materials in zone chat perhaps if trading guilds are not your cup of tea!

Have you considered joining a trading guild? A lot of social guilds tend to not get into the trading scene, so their guild store may not even be unlocked, or yeah, like you said, you may not have access to it. But if you join a trading guild you should be able to get to trading right away without any hassle at all! They *want* you to sell things so that they can collect taxes to pay for their trader haha
