It's amazing how far haying has come in the last 50 years. When I was in my teens we had to run behind the bailer and lift bales that weighed as much as we did onto a wagon. It did seem like everything was uphill 🤣 Then the hay had to be tossed to the man in the mow to stack. That was the worst job, and thankfully I never had it. We'd head home exhausted and scratched up every night. I had a waitressing job then, so I'd go off to a busy restaurant to make money to save for college. No wonder I weighed under 100 lbs until I left home. 🤣

Oh I remember lifting those square bales and throwing them on the wagon and all those scratches ! Not fun at all! Farming is hard work.

I saw the strawberry moon on Saturday. It’s always a judgment call. When to cut. Do you go ahead and bale or wait and hope you don’t get the rain. Then hope you get rain after you bale.
