Oh wow, these are really cool! I never really thought about the SandWing frill having a practical application, but now that you mention it I reckon it would be cool if it could help cool the dragon down in the same way elephants’ ears do. A little unrelated, but a personal headcanon of mine about the NightWings is that the undersides of their wings have not only silver scales, but also coloured pigmentation that kind of look like nebulas (though I imagine this was probably more common in Darkstalker’s time than in modern era NightWings)
