To save time, my mom used to dump and mix the sweets and milk into a big Tupperware and freeze it. When it’s time to eat, she defrosts it a little bit so it’s easy to dig in with a fork and spoon the halo-halo into a cup. 👍🏼😋

For halo halo try reversing the order of putting it together: toppings on the bottom, shave ice, evaporated or condensed milk. Top with ice cream. And pinipig crunchy flakes. Leche or flan is good on top as well. 😋 All in that order. That way it mixes well

I love Mang Inasal's Crema de Leche. Ice mixed with candied bananas 🍌 young coconut strips 🥥 and leche flan (optional) plus a little sugar then evaporated milk 🥛

Hi Judy, also from San Diego and great take in the Halo Halo! My husband’s aunt used to work at Conchings in national city. Try using evaporated milk instead and just use a very small amount of the condensed milk for the top. Hope this helps!

You can also try mixing condensed milk with evaporated milk that way, it will be easier to do ‘halo halo’ and at the same time the evaporated milk will tone down sweetness of the condensed milk

Judy you should try Taiwanese verion of shaved. (Halo Halo) We put brown sugar water and condensed milk. Topped with cooked peanuts, red beans, white barley and mung beans. All different types of fresh fruits and homemade mochi. 😋

Judy, are there any shops in Seattle/Eastside where they sell Halo Halo? I'd love to try it! When I used to fly fish, we'd melt our knots using a low flame of a lighter. Put foil around the adjacent beads and move the flame back and forth until the knot is fused. I'd practice first to get the hang of it. Just my 2 cents. ❤

Hey Judy your putting the wrong way on mixing halo halo...1st punt 1 scop of each condiments on the cup then the crushed ice then the milk, a scoop of ice cream and flakes ..but usually instead of ice cream it's the leche flan ..👍
