Much of the planned work had to be put on hold due to the discovery of a large backlash in the new HV-6 turntable. As a result, I had to take up the manufacture of a home-made boring head and cutters for it. I made the holders for the sample from a relatively soft material and a cutter with a diameter of 4mm. In the future I plan to switch to steel 45 and cutters with a diameter of 2-3mm (they are ordered, but still on the way).
This video demonstrates that for the manufacture of holders and the use of such cutters on universal machines, it is not necessary to have a lot of equipment and the presence of high-precision machines. The main thing is to form three main supporting surfaces.
To restore the turntable, I bored its body and installed a caprolon bushing. As a result, it turned out to reduce the backlash to 1-2 acres. It is unlikely that it will be possible to make it denser, since rotation will be much more difficult.
To check the table, I made an engraving on the limb of the boring head and made sure that the table was restored to working order.
