Making Hoses in Solidworks without Add-Ons

In this one I make a routed hose in Solidworks without using the add-ins that make it easier (but I would have to pay for). Then I make a 'flat' version of it for measuring and drawings.

Good stuff. If the goal was to get the flat hose length, you could have used 3D path length feature.

You could have used the Isolate feature for finding the parts that went into space you could not see instead of searching for them and moving. Also you could save time as you do not need to convert each side of the holes to add a line thru them, In the line command you just needed to hover over each circular edge and the center would activate and just add the lines.

Hey not bad; I like your workflow. Bottom right of the screen also show total length if you select multiple sketch features; so you could have used that (I get it if you made the flat pattern to shown on a drawing maybe). I use that a lot for finding total length of material for ordering; like tubing etc.

For the second half of video....just divide the volume of the hose by the cross section area to get the length. Use that length to create a extrude on the hose end.

Thanks a lot dude !! Your tuto absolutely helped me for routing tubing without the Premium add-on. Just a little question, did you build the Noctua fan and the radiator yourself ? Can we download it somewhere please ? Very good job !

I think the fan came from grabcad, don't remember if the radiator was from there, the MFG website, or maybe I modeled it.

Does this make the hose flexible or fixed?

This will make them move with the components they are created from, but you may have to to a regen (CTRL+Q) to make it happen.

that will not catch troubles，usually i export to CAD 2d system，then i using stretch command to change things in 2d
