Great to see your video. Very well done boring bar. Watching from the hills of Middle Tennessee, USA!

Fantastic job! Well done tapping that hard boring bar material.

Yes I also had to fix a thread in hard steel, tried first with a chinesium tap, which went blunt after a turn, so finished off with a good Czech made tap, which made nasty noises, but went through and recut the damaged threads. Original was tapped before hardening, so the threads deformed, and I had to drill out the snapped set screw from it first, using a good HSS drill bit and a Ridgid extractor to persuade the remains out.

only 7 mins of machining time after so long a wait? Miss your sarcastic Netherlands accent! Hope thats right haha glad to see you back on the lathe

I think a stunt double was used, no swearing, no biting wit, no problems!. A decent tool made at the end. And not a pair of clogs in sight. The Chinese love of bicycles was beginning to overpower the show. I revisited the ER32 collet chuck😁.

Hey, it works! I'm impressed by what you can do with only a few tools, including just whipping up a custom V-block. Still miss your jokes in the soundtrack though.

Nice job. I think you will find a HSS boring bar very useful on your Karger.

are you sure that boring bar was bad? these double sided inserts need some clearance under a cutting edge so those gap must be intended.

I have to give you credit my man, you have a lot of talent and you are a fearless bastard when it comes to making things.

I'm disappointed! There was no blood and you used a vise on the drill press! You feeling okay?😜

I like this. Nothing against two wheeled transport but I know as much as I will ever need to know about old bike frames and components. One thing for sure, I cannot use single speed with coaster brakes where I live. Too many hills :-)

Why not soften the end cutoff. The strength of the material is not directly related to the hardness. In my workshop ( I'm a poor man), the breaking of a high quality tap, reamer or cutting tool, would spoil my whole day. Stavros the impecunious.
