Always hear you guys mention that your demographics for younger readers is small, but I’m 25 and have been watching you guys religiously since I discovered this channel. Keep doing what you guys do! Makes my work commute so much more awesome!

Removing the grid when she escapes reminds me of how the panels on each page of Where the Wild Things Are get bigger and then bleed off the page as Max gets to the Wild Things. Nice.

Man... what a great video! I currently also work a fiftyish hour a week job doing design at a family-run printer here in Dover Delaware... and I work on comics in whatever spare time I have. That hit home hard, brother.

This is a cool video, thanks for telling the story of Street Angel this way. I've never read an issue, but now I'm intrigued. I also love how you just went ahead and made a mini-comic for Halloween and one to send out for Christmas.

I drew a Halloween comic to pass out to trick or treaters in 2009/2010, and two kids came back to give me fan art... I, like Ed, was FULLY expecting some angry kids who only wanted candy to come back and egg my house.

Good to know that Jim went through some of the same thought processes as I did while making my own comic, I think I'm on the right path. Ready to go back to writing and drawing... and pre-ordering that good looking book.

Really nice work! When ordering the first Street Angel book, how do I know which version I get? They should have different ISBN-number, right? Edit: Found it AdHouse Books. :)

I was wondering how the design elements translate from the oversized editions to the new collection book. And does any of the 'back matter' stuff make it into the new collection, or is there a whole different set of story-adjacent material there?

Hey Ed, do you have the BORN TO BE WILD anthology by Eclipse? I wondered if you looked at my lettering. I lettered my own story and another story in there, and I was always happy with the results.

Nice, very nice. What size is the Deadliest Girl Alive collection? Is it the same as the first Street Angel collection or that massive thing standing to your right? Also, does the collection include those excellent end papers (the gang cards, the scribbled note books etc)? Recently picked up the pink paper/purple inked Streel Angel collection and Afrodisiac and loved them, top stuff Jim!

Street Angel: Deadliest Girl Alive is comic book sized - so a little bigger than the first collection, Princess of Poverty.

awesome work, jim! i had a question... when you first pitched to SLG, they insisted that you format it according to standard western page size, and when you went to image, instead of doing single issues you did self contained stories as books because they were interested in branching out into the graphic novel market. did that give you the option to experiment with other art dimensions, for example an herge album like ed said, or did they still want you to work in the american standard? keep up the good work!

The small street angel hardcover, is that available for sale? I can't find it anywhere
@CartoonistKayfabe3 жыл бұрын
The small one is hand made, there is only one copy. It is $100,000. But there is a paperback version available wherever books are sold: www.amazon.com/Street-Angel-Deadliest-Girl-Alive/dp/1534313508/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2WXHEXTQAR286&dchild=1&keywords=street+angel+deadliest+girl+alive&qid=1615156664&sprefix=street+angel+deadli%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-1

@@CartoonistKayfabe $100,000 is a couple dollars too rich for my blood 😂. It's a shame because I wanted a version with the different paper types including the Risograph. Just grabbed Supermag though! You guys rock
