here's my full routine for when i make kombucha at home!

Kombucha recap:
1st fermentation
1. make sweet tea (use plain teas and plain sugar with chlorine-free water)
2. let sweet tea cool to room temperature
3. add in SCOBY and starter liquid aka kombucha
4. cover with coffee filter/cloth that will keep flies out but let your booch breath
5. set aside in a warm place out of direct sunlight until desired taste is acquired
2nd fermentation
1. set aside scobys and some starter liquid from the top of your container for the next batch (unless you plan to take starter liquid from your SCOBY hotel)
2. give your kombucha a mix
3. pour into fermentation-grade bottles (leave 1inch ish of room)
4. add flavour if you want
5. set aside in a warm out of direct sunlight place, burping the bottles until desired taste is acquired

For recycling beer bottles, don't let them ferment for too long outside the fridge because they are rated for half the pressure that kombucha cn get to(explosion risk)

Haha, I basically just had friends over, told them to being a jar, showed them all how to make kombucha, and sent them home woth a scoby + starter liquid :)) and we had a little Potlatch. It was really fun, would recommend 🥳

Thank you for showing us how to make kombucha. Would like to give you a small suggestion, maybe you can wrap up your hair so you don't have to touch it so much and can avoid getting hair in whatever you do in the kitchen. Thank you again. 🥰

Wow you're an expert! Thanks for sharing :) I don't drink kombucha, but I've always been curious about it. Except I don't drink pop because I don't like carbonation lol :D

You should try it!! If you don't like the fizz, you can just let it go flat (or if you make it yourself, don't do the second ferment). I have a friend who doesn't like fizz either but lives the kombucha after she does the first ferment!

I try to make a little extra every time I make a new batch (since i usually take starter liquid from my hotel). So probably every 2 weeks? But I've gotten lazy and gone easily for over a month and they've made it through😂
