Hey what is the press made out of? The inside material to allow it to mold to the knife shape?? Would love to make one but curious on how dense that should be.. Also curious of the brand of chuck on the drill press and if you like it or not. Been looking to buy a keyless chuck. All my others are jacobs.
Man, your kydex work is next level... I guess i need more practice!
@jimbeckum65707 жыл бұрын
What it looks like to me, is that the bigger knife has an obvious divot in the handle which makes it click into the holster, upon watching the video a second time, it appears that the tight fit of the bolster on the green knife clicks it in the holster. Am I wrong?

Just subscribed. Great instructional video, I just made my first knife out 303 stainless (just cause I had a plate given to me). Anyway next is Kydex, but I am going to try black PVC just cause I have some laying around. Knife has cost me $12.00 so far, but tools cost $500.00. I already had must the tools. Going to make arbor kydex rivet press this weekend, I could of saved $50.00 if I would have watched this video before ordering press.

I like the sheaths. I am interested in making a sheath for an upside down carry on my back. How did you get your knives to "click" into place?
@afonchenkoknives7 жыл бұрын
This requires an explanation in practice. It is necessary to show how this works, it is important that the knife and sheath work in pairs. Not every knife can make a sheath of kydex.

Kydex is for rookies! I am returning the leather ... Kydex has scratched all my blades that came with it as standard. Some expensive blades now have Kydex damage !!! I wish blade manufacturers would give you a choice between Kydex for kids or a leather sheath for all blades over $200 ... the leather would be an optional extra (higher cost) ...

A knife is a tool, if you don't want to scratch it, put your knife in a display case and mount it on your wall... I use the same theory on my handguns.. they are tools.
