sorry if this video is too fast in some parts i tried to make it as short as possible but get as-much of the construction as possible in the video. if you have questions or opinions on the video or the construction of the hive, i would love to hear from you. thanks for watching and i hope this inspires.
the music was wrote and recorded by me, it can be downloaded at the link(s) below.

yours is by far the most straightforward process i've ever seen. i have often wondered though if you wanted to make hive bodies to last more than a few years why not make them from more rot resistant wood species? seems everyone is making them from pine and painting to weather proof them. seems to me you can eliminate the painting and just make them from much better wood. please help me understand the thinking and the reasons why. i know im showing my lack of experience but this is why people ask questions. to learn. thanks so much.

Chemicals they pressure treat the wood with is why I dident use pressure treated lumber. And rot resistant cedar is a bit pricey. Others may have a different reason.

Great video. Loved the Router table and how you trimmed the sides of the bee frames with a roller trim bit in the router. Gonna use some of your ideas.

Good but your way of cutting frames would be more effective and efficient if you have bored of wood in the shape of sides and then cut individual pieces ready to go. Rather than hand crafting them individually.

Just curious... what do you make your frame parts from? 2x lumber for sides and 3/4"x for everything else? I'm looking to build my own stuff as well, and not using a dado blade. I have a table saw and a good router, so I like your method. Thanks for sharing!

Nice to see you do the frames as well your jigs are awesome for each section. I have some hives based on warres methods that are pallet planks stuck together bees love anything cobbled together compared to that your design is a palace. The only thing I don't skimp on is the roof, as long as they are dry your bees will love anything you give them.
