thats really awesome i didn't think they could erase mistakes back then but all it took was scratching it off

+clpfox more than just erasing mistakes, since parchment was expensive, sometimes entire works would be scraped or washed clean so that the parchment could be used again.

WOW! Absoluutely fascinating and admirable! How wonderful to see so many forms of art and crafts come together: animal husbandry, calligraphy, visual arts, binding, etc.! And how wonderful that some amazing people are able to recreate the process so accurately! Bravo!
