That Cardboard "Plaster" is a great idea. Bathrooms in the 1940s? My family had an outhouse and a tin bath; but maybe Normandy is a bit posher than the UK Midlands.

Even to me, who barely knows what a camera looks like, that footage hurt :| If I ever were to do studio work on my own dime, I would 100% have a life line attached to the camera, suspended from the ceiling, so it would be physically impossible for it to even get to the floor without unhooking it first.

you're vids are great as always. History tip you aren't going to find many "Bathrooms" in WW2 French villages. jugs of water and bowls in the main with a stand-in bowl for the "bath experience". It's a bit like Britain and its wash stand and tin bath. The whole hygiene thing didn't really kick of until the 50s anyway

Mate, another great vid. Just a reminder when doing interiors, don't forget they had electric lighting and a few sockets. For electrical cable that scale you can use old phone cable sometimes you can find some outside junction boxes or just get an extension set from the pound shop. Also don't forget out side pipework, ie, stink pipe, guttering and sink pipes. Just suggestions. Nice tips on the wall paper and picture rails/skirting boards. It's little details like this that makes all the difference.

This level of detail is awesome! As is the amount of damage! The excitement caused by finally getting to do some internal work was obviously too much for the camera to take! Very very impressed that the house didn't end up flying across the room too! Right then... Only another 20 to go and then you can start on the boards!!!

Bit of a hindsight but Luke ever considered a Rubber room, so that when and if your accident occurs again, instead of "Oops I did it Again!!" then you can watch your instruments Bounce and be retrieved quite happily? And by rubber I mean rubber sheeting which gives both protection and insulation to the floor your working on. Just a thought to brighten your day!!

I’ve found that craft papers (6x6) work great as wallpapers. You just need to find patterns that look right. I cut them into scaled wallpaper strips and they look good 👍🏻👍🏻 great work xxxx

I tend to find with MDF kits that can of petrol and a lighter works wonders. Or failing that put it in the wood chipper that your dad uses when he's cut the hedge.

Try using microscope glass.. you can get in various thickness, 1mm and etc. they look great and can use in a lot of things without cutting. You can use a cutoff diamond wheel or score and snap with glass cutter.

For glass effect, use laminate. It's cheap and more manageable than plastic packaging.

a good source off wall paper in the game 'The Sims' they is lots of downloadable stuff for the game inc wall paper. What you need is the thumb nail image that go's with the file. They are easy to scale as they are in a format that is one roll of wall paper wide. you can also get floor tiles and carpets as well.

You could print bricks like that on sprues with only a single support per brick, clean+cure, prime and paint/wash them still on the sprue, removal would only cause an unpainted dot on one side, leaving the rest already fully painted, probably enough to get away with for most builds where the bricks are part of something.

I work mostly in 1:35 scale and scratch build my buildings. My brick walls are cast in Herculite plaster which is coloured york buff or terricota with pigment. It is possible to colour individual bricks in the mould, but thats too time consuming for me. The mortar is poundshop plaster filler heavily watered down. That can also be coloured with a tiny amount of black pigment to get a grey mortar. All the wooden structures are made from balsa though I use bought MDF window frames so in effect my stone/ brick work is real stone and wood in the building is real wood. I use microscope slide cover glass as window panes. They are easy to break in the frame with a small tap from a nail to make cracked or broken windows. The plaster is thin sheets cast again from Herculite in moulds that represent 8x4 feet plaster board. the pound shop filler is used to fill any gaps. these sheets are too easy to break. The wallpaper is made exactly as you did and if you try this, paper the wall before breaking the plaster. floorboard are again balsa as are rafters, skirting, Simon Kemp has great videos on using the same moulds I do. Careful with those skirtings! I found that when I printed doors flat on the build plate, they warped after a couple of weeks, presumably to slight shrinkage as the upper layers cured more. If you glue them all on quick they might be OK but keep an eye on them to see if they start to curve and peel off the wall! Would coffee stirrers be an easier (if less aesthetically pleasing) substitute?

Looks great. One thing that bugs me about terrain buildings or even on a model train layout is that staircases are usually forgotten or there is no way one would fit in a building. Just a pet peeve but when I see someone thought about it I appreciate it more.

Love your work and help, with ref the thicken the walls of mdf kits, check out Laser Creation World although 1/35 diorama builder in a video 2 weeks ago ( ww2 panther defensive battle ) he used thin cuts of Styrofoam to thicken the walls of a church mdf building. Keep up the good work.
